Looked at that myself but would mean getting train from Stafford to London during rush hour at hundred quid a pop. So will be getting the 4pm eurostar, later than I wanted but got editors nght before.

Unsure if you can upgrade or not, email Rock Werchter as there very helpful. I emailed them and they replied within the day.

Hi guys. Rock Werchter will be my first foreign festival, (Having done Reading/ Download/Gatecrasher/etc in England) and I'm quite looking forward to it. I am, however, thinking about the travel arrangements.

I booked and paid for two Festival XL tickets in one go, one for myself and one for my partner. Because I paid for them, they're both in my name. I'm now on the free train ticket website, and it's asking me to put in my name for each train ticket.

So my question is... do I put my name for both of them... so they match the tickets, or do I put my name on one, and her name on the other so they can match it to... well... the fact she's a girl, and all her ID and stuff?

Apologies if this is a stupid question, and thanks for your help.

Any tips for the newbies?

How strict are they with cameras? Point and shoot only? (I don't want to take camera with a huge zoom... but it's not a point and shoot job either!)

Anything thats a must see?

Best place to stock up with food? Booze?

Best time to hit the showers for small queues? (I can't do 4 days of wet wipes anymore!)

Thanks for the advice about the train ticket. My next questions are about what I'm allowed to take!

What am I allowed to take cooker wise? I like to make a brew in the morning, and maybe a late night snack back at the campsite.

The website is a little confusing. It says I can bring a gas burner (Small) but then goes on to say that I'm not allowed to bring any cooker whatsoever.

Am I allowed to bring my hexi stove?

Also, has anyone ever had any problems taking tents and things on the eurostar? just wondering if they think tent pegs are weapons.

Hey! I'm coming to Rock Werchter from Liverpool with a friend (not looking forward to the 15ish hr coach journey!) It's my first ever festival but my friend has been to RW before and LOVED it so we thought we'd give it ago this year!

Just something to bare in mind about the e-train tickets if your departure/arrival station is down as being the airport you have to pay a surcharge. Just thought i'd mention it incase it never came up when people downloaded them, i dont know if it makes you pay the charge when you book them cos were leaving from Brussels North but something to bare in mind.

:)

I'm dreading it both ways if im being honest! i wanted to fly but by the time we'd added baggage and what not it was a small fortune and my poor student bank account couldnt take anymore abuse ;') Then by the time we got round to booking transport the Eurostar on the way back had sold out & we couldnt afford to stay over night in Brussels. SO coach was our only option. Nightmare!

RIGHT then. Only a few days to go. We've decided to go to Amsterdam first so we won't arrive at the site until Thursday middayish. Definitely up for meeting people during Thursday and beyond. Do people want to message me numbers or try to find me on Facebook? Search eddifirth@hotmail.co.uk and I should come up

Will also be looking out for somewhere to watch the football if England get through as our semi would be on the Thursday and the final would be on the Sunday (would like to watch the final either way). Now for the semi I'd like to see Blink and catch the second half and for the final I'm easy as I don't want to see Florence/Snow Patrol/anyone else on during it anyway. Anyone reckon the bar in the actual village might show one/both of the games?

Finally, it seems the Barn is bigger than the Pyramid Marquee judging by the map (which is completely rubbish as it doesn't tell you which stage is which). Not sure if that surprises me or not and it's interesting that they're both so close together. I thought they'd have the Barn parallel to the entrance where the food stalls usually are
