russycarps
they have their say every time they intrude in peoples lives while the 'victim' is powerless anyway, yea, sure give them their chance... give em enough rope. I've never heard one journo try and justify their scummy behaviour without making themselves seem worse. Did you hear that clip? it's laughable

The Nal
He said he wouldn't usually ask reporters to verify their sources for stories? And hes the editor? This is what happens when you fail to that Piers, you fucking arsehole. You get sacked! Should've been "Sorry we didn't bother our arse doing any research as it made more money the way it was" Edited December 20, 2011 by The Nal

sifi
the man is crass, brash, outspoken, and ill informed. that's one hell of a pitch to a TV exec in the USA.
eFestivals
Seems like Piers is being called a liar. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16283935 Luckily for him, the guy who's doing so is a convicted crook, so his word can easily be dismissed, just as Sean Hoare's word was because of drinking and drug taking. Yoghurt on a Stick
Its called an English accent. Seriously, have an english accent and they consider it a sign of authority and education. The fact his knowledge is limited and his interviewing is pathetic is neither here or there. The yanks lap it up.

eFestivals
Convicted crook? Wasn't Morgan a "cats cock hair" away from being such over the insider dealing thing with viglen? I still find it disgusting that he got away with that...... yep, I'm pretty sure he was. I can't remember the details now, but I think it's the case that Private Eye alleged (and their info on these things is hugely more right than it is wrong) that the whole thing was pretty much being run by Morgan. What I can remember is that Morgan told provable porkies about his own dealings in Viglen shares. If I'm remembering rightly, it's only because of his (later proven as) lies that he wasn't in court himself alongside the 'City Slickers'. grumpyhack
Heart v Head. Murdoch has a genuine affection for The Sun as it was the start of his UK empire. But he also has a strong pull towards money and will probably still ditch it if it threatens his more profitable worldwide interests. Whether he can pull off being 'Mr Clean' to his US investors and authorities and keep The Sun running remains to be seen.
eFestivals
Today's Leveson revelations get to strongly suggest that Murdoch was attempting - and succeeding - in running the country by ensuring his poodles get in position and stay in position while those who wouldn't do what he say got shot down in his papers. They also prove that Rebecca Brooks and Coulson and News International execs knew of widespread hacking in 2006, because the police told them ... and also told them they'd be told if they were going to get arrested, so they could destroy the evidence. Will the papers pick up on this hugely corrupt side of things? I doubt it.
