Tinie Tempah

My friend is adamant he will be playing some where at R+L next year. I could see him playing, he did V last year so if not a repeat booking then probably around. Was a bit disappointed by him on the Pyramid stage at Glasto (was more interested in getting a good spot for Friendly Fires & saw him in Koko earlier in the year) & completely missed him headlining Global Gathering (people I asked said he did good- mostly girls).

I could see TT being on the bill shifting a few tickets to the 16-19 year olds that frequent the festival.

(Could any more UK rap artists/MCs potentially be playing? Lethal Bizzle, Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, Wretch 32, Giggs, Sway? There is usually a slot somewhere on Sunday on the NME stage.

I personally think Dizzee Rascal will headline one year.)

The V crowd would certainly suit these artists better but surely they can't keep playing there year after year (I've noticed not many V artists excepts bands aren't leaving the charts/releasing singles as if they're scared to go away they will be pushed out of the market- looking at you Katy Perry, Rihanna). Reading needs some new blood to attract the "right of passage" lot back & sell tickets imo, keeping the rock & metal that V shys away from.

caught the end of him at V this year, and i couldn't even hear the music, i could just hear him shouting 'YEH, YEH, WHERES THE MOSH PIT? WHERES THE MOSH PIT?'

Can not be dealing with the 15 year old kids that he would attract who get smashed on one beer loving it and just being general nuisances around the site for both the festivals i go to, V is bad enough. ha

There's no chance of him playing R&L and there never was any chance. He's just not the kind of act that they book. i do realise that Dizzee Rascal has played numerous times but in the grand scheme of things these two acts are completely different, Dizzee appeals to a far broader group of people.

I can kind of understand why he wouldn't be suited to R+L. But at the same time he would be a big draw for the crowds that go there these days.

After headlining Global Gathering (ridiculous I know) I think he does have some broad appeal, although nothing compared to Mr. Rascal.

I see them both as future potential headliners of major festivals (Dizzee did Beach Break, Global & Bestival, subbed Glasto already, & Tinie at Beach Break, Global, prob on his way for a high V slot).

Dizzee is by far the better artist & show man, but you can't deny a huge response if Tinie Tempah was put on the bill. Not to say I know anything if he is.
