The Killers Rumour?

A dull, safe booking & I don't think they could bring anything new to R+L to make me want to go see them except a new album which I doubt I will like. IMO.

However they are more popular than I thought & should go down well. Would want to be headliners, probably wouldn't cost too much either so we could see a half decent under card.

Sounds a bit like a rant but I really don't think they are anything special. Give them a sub spot.

they last headlined V fest in 2009, the year after R&L.

reason they are a rumour? probably because FR got them to play their fest in america, and would be thinking to get them to play again.

from what i heard about their performance in 08, it was lackluster and they had no interaction with the crowd at all.

no thanks, but hopefully if they do play there is a good enough alternative act to see.

I gotta stick up for V here, cus although ive stopped going I went for many years and actually V has been going 17 years next year and only had 5 headliners play twice - Oasis, The Killers, The Verve, RHCP and Muse. And The Verve had a 10 year gap between appearences so thats hardly fair.

12 STONE ROSES - ???

11 EMINEM - ARCTIC MONKEYS

10 KINGS OF LEON - KASABIAN

09 THE KILLERS - OASIS

08 THE VERVE - MUSE

07 FOO FIGHTERS - THE KILLERS

06 RADIOHEAD - MORRISSEY

05 OASIS - SCISSOR SISTERS/FRANZ FERDINAND [co headline]

04 MUSE - THE STROKES

03 COLDPLAY - RHCP

02 STEREOPHONICS - CHEMICAL BROTHERS

01 RHCP - TEXAS

00 TRAVIS - RICHARD ASHCROFT

99 MANICS - SUEDE

98 THE VERVE - THE CHARLATANS

97 BLUR - THE PRODIGY

96 PULP PAUL WELLER

I bet Reading is about the same or worse, Foo Fighters, Pulp, The Strokes, Muse, Metallica and thats just off my head

I aint looking to start a big debate, just seems the whole 10 years plus ive used efests, V always gets made to sound worse than it is on reading forum.

Nothing can compete against the mighty Glasto!

Ive never been myself, but Glasto goers seem to hate every other fest, for me, Ive never fancied it, it just seems too big to get around and see the acts you want to see, yes it has great extra things to do, but it seems you'd end up missing more of what you want to see getting through all the crap you didn't.

The Glasto-forum seems to be full of people who hate pretty every festival including glasto. The place itself is brilliant though. I couldn't just go there though, definitely need my fix of seeing stupid amounts of bands over one weekend that you can only get from a solely music-orientated festival.

Also about V, they do only have to put on 2 headliners each year, and have more freedom to book a range of more commercial acts.
