Yeah I believe they've been confirmed today. Meh, not bad, but I'm not a massive fan.

They're playing on the 14th, so below Florence I would imagine.

Not really fussed about Mumford and Sons but never seen them live so might give them a go (the great thing about fests like this is that the tickets are so cheap and there's only a couple of stages, so you can just go along with an open mind and if it's rubbish it doesn't really matter!).

There will be no such thing. They make announcements when they have contracts signed and a green light from the band (said by the promoter).

Blur will make a big announcement next week, perhaps it's only the eventual Hyde Park gig, but who knows, maybe they'll announce an entire tour.

I think that 5 million euros (Optimus Alive normal budget) should be enough. Blur are not exactly a stadium band to ask for a big amount of money.

According to this weeks NME, next week's NME will have an exclusive interview with Blur from the Studio, where they will be making a 'Big announcement'.

Must be a Hyde Park gig...

The Blur announcement will be that they are definately releasing a new album.

But Blur are a stadium band? if they can sell out Hyde Park, that's pretty much the same amount of people as the average stadium & I guess they'd cost of lot of money. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would be expensive to have Blur, Stone Roses, The Cure & Radiohead.

Florence (who i actually don't mind), snow patrol, kooks and mumford are a pretty bland selection - did they choose on account of whose cds were selling well in tesco?

Hoping for something a bit heavier (dance or rock) next time. This festival was headlined by the foos and jane's addiction last year and by pearl jam, faith no more and the deftones two years ago. Metallica, prodigy, rage, smashing pumpkins and the beastie boys in years before that. Have they said they've changed policy drastically this year?

The second stage will probably be filled with heavier acts if thats what you're into, + if you want dance music they have a DJ tent which saw the likes of Benga and a few others in the past years

Hi guys. Seriously considering my first visit here this year. To any people who have been before, do you know if the campsite has any pre-pitched tents rather than having to carry mine all the way from Blighty? Obviously missed out on the wooden hut gaffs in the campsite but a pre-errected tent would be the next best thing and no info on the website...
