ohduarte
anyone know what happened to Black Lips? Pretty sure they were announced, or very likely to play but rumours about them players have kinda died down
Davydenko
Black Lips were TBC with Dum Dum Girls, BUT they finally will play at PS Oporto, so dont count with them at Optimus Alive. In Portugal 1 band never plays in more than 1 festival. I dont really know why, but this is what happens.
ohduarte
Ah well, still got my hopes up for Noal Gallagher. Some Oasis songs before Radioheads set would make a perfect end to a brilliant festival
Frankly Mr Shankly
Noel would be the worst option in my eyes & I thought he'd been very outspoken about his disdain for Radiohead? Also considering all of the bands available around those dates: Morrissey, Portishead, Orbital, New Order, ATDI, etc, Noel would be a very bland choice in my opinion. I hope the Black Keys do play though, I've really gotten into them recently.

Homer
anyone got any advice on a decent location to get an apartment in the centre of Lisbon? I've never been so not sure where to look really...
stotto
Noel G would be a great addition to the line-up. Hoping that a couple more big announcements will be made soonish. Did anyone see Radiohead at Coachella? Absolutely AMAZING! They are going to put on a great show. Roll on July! pieces_of_a_man
Near Biarro Alto, as this is the main party part of town. It is also near Cais De Sodre train station, which is the one that links you to the festival and to the beaches beyond (Estoril and Cascais). ohduarte
Mars Volta playing Lisbon in June, doubt they'll go back and forth to Portugal more than once in quick succession. I guess we can rule them out
pryce
i nearly had a heart attack ... thought the tweet read july 14th in lisbon.... but it said june 14th ...... gutted
Frankly Mr Shankly
I'm assuming the Vaccines may play? They're at Beni on the 14th, but free on the 13th & 15th, assuming they're not playing anywhere else in Portugal...

Tomjoll
we're staying in lapa, it's the neighbourhood next to bairro alto. we booked through www.only-apartments.com. decent choices, decent prices. we used this website last year and it all went super. i can only recommend using this website! DutchGuy
That's good news as its first time I've used only-apartments and there isn't much in the way of reviews online. Good to see someone with some first hand experience. But yeah seems to be the way to go for anyone who's after a reasonably priced apartment. lila_pipino
Hi everybody! It's such a thrill to go to Portugal this year. There will be two of us and we are really interested if we can rent a tent somewhere in Lisbon, because taking it from Russia is way too inconvinient! Can anyone please give us any information on this?
Homer
If you scroll back a page or two, one guy on here had room in his bungalow (which is in the campsite). Closest you'll get I imagine...
lila_pipino
Thank you, but we really wanted a tent. Don't want to bother anybody. I guess there are some agencies in Lisbon that lend some tents or other equipment for hiking..
pieces_of_a_man
You'd probably be able to buy a little tent in Lisbon cheap enough, if you get there in enough time to have a look around. Not sure why you'd want to be in the heat of a tent in the middle of a Portugese summer though, it's bad enough in England!
Kate.wicks
Does anyone know what the campsite is called by any chance? Thanks! don't worry found it Edited April 20, 2012 by Kate.wicks

kaaaaate
Hey, Me and 2 others are heading out for this festival from Wed-Wed, booked flights yesterday and SO EXCITED. In hindsight should've booked waaaaay before but hey ho. We're flying from London and stopping in Madrid for the night as it saves us about 80 quid each! Anyway, I started reading this but got to page 10 and it's just too long. We're camping, but just wondering if it's possible to buy booze anywhere along the way, and whether we can bring it into the arena? Is it open, like Glasto, or split? I'm presuming it's open because there's no camping? Thanks guys, see you in 82 days!!!!
Tomjoll
Think someone said there is a shop at the campsite but they'll be other shops around I'm sure. In terms of taking booze in i reckon they'll probably stop you. Edited April 22, 2012 by Tomjoll
