anyone know what time the last train is from the festival back to the city? trying to decide whether to get a hostel in the city or one within walking distance of the festival.

also, are there any beaches closer to the city than estoril/cascais? thanks!

The train to Cascais runs down the coast, so there are beaches at every stop. I think Osterias is the closest one to the site.

Staying back in lisbon definitely looks better than staying in a hotel nearby as someone earlier in the thread said most taxis were city folk heading back that way, i know the trains run late but doubt they will run to 3,4 in the morning.

Im staying at the corinthea in lisbon just hoping its easier enough to get back once the day/night is over! Im sure we will get back somehow!

Seriously considering this festival this year, went to benicassim with eight mates last year and loved it. I'm going with roughly the same group of guys again (we're 19) and we're just wondering how the whole experience of the two would compare? Whats the atmosphere of the campsite like?Is it a hassle getting from the campsite to festival? Is there as much general mayhem at the festival as beni?

Bear in mind that were from australia,so european festival wise we dont have much to compare it to

Any advice would be much appreciated

Planning on coming to the festival this year, although I haven't read anything anywhere on the website regarding security? Are we allowed to take our own drinks into the festival or must they all be bought inside? Sometimes the policy is "no glass bottles" or something? And are we allowed to take portable gas stoves?

We're planning on hiring a car, it's pretty cheap. We can enjoy the beaches without the hassle of trains etc. Does anyone of you who's been to Lisbon know if it's best to catch a train/taxi? Basically price for car hire is around €16/day/person (for 3 days after the festival). I don't know about train prices to be honest...

I'd be surprised if the Kooks sub. They didn't at Super Bock Super Rock last year in Lisbon and that had a smaller line-up than Optimus...

For the headliners alone i am happy with the line up and price.My flights and ticket have cost me the same as a uk festival.

I Reckon Glasvegas will be added shortly as they have just been added to BBK.

Glasvegas are incredibly boring to be fair ..... the lineup needs some energy

saying that we still have 5 more main stage bands to come and all of the 2nd and 3rd stages so cant really complain

wish they didnt drip feed one name per announcement.... adds to the disspointment of you dont like the band

I'd be far happier with glasvegas than the kooks. Does ANYONE actually like the kooks? Just as long as they don't add razorlight or my ticket will be on eBay immediately.

im pretty sure those 5 bands are on the mainstage .... and usually there are 5 bands on the main stage per day

unless they put more bands on which i bloody hope so!

and caribou is listed as main stage on the last fm website ..... i know thats not really proof .. but they are now high up on the poster

Wouldn't mind seeing Stone Roses on the Friday, but other than that the only acts I'd be interested in are on Sunday, and that's not enough for a 3 day event unless there's something else going on...

That lineup par The Kooks and PAUS (I admit I've never listened to them) is unbelievable.

Caribou will be insanely good
