Queens of the stone age

So just remembered that queens of the stone age are ment to have a album out next year.

Was wondering what peoples thoughts are on them headlining? seeing as sonisphere rocked the boat a little last year and put Biffy as a headliner think they might give QOTSA their rightly deserved* headliner slot? (i appreciate queens would be rocking the boat A LOT LESS)

*i appreciate this isn't everyone's view, but they're such a good live band with a quite a extensive back catalog of well known songs...

tbh on their day, they can probably outperform most bands - just depends if they were up for it.

at reading in 2010 they were epic, and this year at glasto they looked like a band who could headline (from the tv footage).

with another solid album they should definitely headline, would just have to hope they take it seriously and perform as well as they can.

In a word, yes! Lots of love for queens, can't believe they didn't play last year since they were in europe at the time of sonisphere, guess it all depends on how their touring is planned.

QOTSA are one of my favourite bands, I dont understand why they don't play here more, when they do their tours instantly sell out but they don't ever play arenas.

Clearly they're in demand, I think without an arena tour selling out though, festivals aren't going to give them a headliner slot

If Biffy can headline I don't see why Queens couldn't.

Biffy were selling out Arena's where QOTSA aren't. That said they could pull it off, easily.

The only way I can see them becoming headliners without a new album on par with Songs For The Deaf is if Nick Oliveri rejoins them creating a huge buzz.

They were fantastic at Glasto this year. Should at least get a chance to headline a British festival.
