charley
If you want a returning hero for a band who were once huge then personally id love to see The Lemonheads bring their Shame About Ray tour to Reading. Evan has a history at the festival and would be amazing, although possibly better suited to the third stage these days (kids today have no taste!!). Other bands who could do the legend spot on the smaller stages, who have historically played big Reading shows and are reformed or still knocking about ... Shed Seven (still playing big tours to huge crowds), PWEI, Carter USM, Wonder Stuff, Jesus Jones. By the way, love to see Marion on the bill somewhere, they are back with the origianl lineup and are probably one of the most overlooked bands of the nineties, shoulda been absolutely huge. charley
Why are all the bands you keep bringing up decades old?

A Weekend In The City
The Maccabees confirmed they'll be headlining one night on the NME this year at Newcastle last night, they're also playing 3rd down on KTWWT at T In The Park

Banana Co
Surely Skrillex is a bit optimistic for headliner. I'm sure he would be popular but compared to bands like FNM, Pendulum & Jane's Addiction...
allan14
Yeah Skrillex won't headline NME. Maybe dance stage.

paulomas
knew it would be the maccabees for one of the NME headliners. rightly so, too
timonweels
Wouldn't Chase And Status draw a crowd too big for NME against any but the biggest headliner? I would quite like Silversun Pickups to feature somewhere- 3rd or 4th down perhaps...

DavisO89
Honestly dont think TDCC will be at Reading this year.Think V will have them seeing as they have played Reading the last couple of years, and (as far as I'm aware) don't have any plans to release a new record before the summer. And before someone says "but they're playing the NME tour", it means squat all. Bombay Bicycle Club, We Are Scientists, and Magnetic Man are all examples that spring to mind from recent years. As has already been said The Maccabees seem fairly certain to be one of the headliners. Can see Enter Shikari being another due to their rising popularity and success of their 3rd album. Can see the 3rd headliner being one of the following: Placebo Brand New The Vaccines Franz Ferdinand Feeder Janes Addiction Suede Korn Justice Chase & Status At The Drive-In Although I think the last 3 are more likely to sub than headline outright Edited February 3, 2012 by DavisO89
Jacky Boy
Do you think they'd have Jane's Addiction back after what happened last year? I could understand having them back if they pulled out before the festival but pulling out so late like they did makes me think Melvin won't be in any rush to have them back.
