Apparently Iommi has been diagnosed with cancer. There has to be a high chance of Black Sabbath pulling out of all their tour dates! Hope he recovers fully and quickly!

In the statement released they said they're moving the album sessions around his treatement and no word on the tour plans. If it's early stages like they say it is he could be treated and cured before the tour even starts and if not Deaf Leppard are free to step in.

a friend of a friend died of lymphoma mid last year, it can be a vicious, horrible cancer. I know there isnt such a thing as a nice cancer, but from what I have seen this one is bigtime. If my friends' stories are true, its unlikely they will still play.

Hmm the story has broke that Black Sabbath were down to headline Coachella in April but pulled out due to Tony before the line up was announced.

The fact he's in England and the rest of the band are going to record the album here, means even if they do cancel the tour the one date that stands a chance of going ahead would be Download due to lack of travelling and effort IMO.

I have just been reading about the cancer on google, i think it all depends on the type as there are 35 types of hodgkin's and non-hodgkin's lymphoma with not too bad a survival rate if caught early.

So i suppose it depends on his type of treatment and how big a deal it was for them to be playing in the first place.

I have a huge gap in my knowledge about these things. I really hope iommi has the fluffiest cancer there is, because the one that killed Matt was fucking brutal. Turned a fit young man in his prime into a fragile, weak, frail guy at the end. In 18 months.
