Wrong demographic surely? The Cure have some 'heavy' songs but they aren't metal and they arn't straight up rock.

The Soni organisers don't consider it to be a metal fest and they managed to talk Sisters Of Mercy into making a festival comeback last year and they are the same goth 80's alternative vibe as The Cure besides it's not as if they have their pick of fest anymore. Not that I'm saying The Cure are likely to play only that the way they worded a series was suspicious to me.

The Sisters of Mercy are much heavier than The Cure. I really can't see The Cure going down very well at Sonisphere

By the way, not really sure if these Spanish/Portugese Dates make Latitude more possible or not. They are either playing there the Friday or Sunday and I can't see them doing 3 festivals in 3 different countries over 3 days?

The Cure actually have much heavier stuff than SOM, but The Cure's heavy stuff is less well known and they won't get booked to play it.

The Cure would go down pretty well if they played everything from Pornography...but thats not going to happen and they wouldn't headline.

They wouldn't headline if they were playing Pornography. If they were booked, they would headline if they were playing a greatest hits set.

Of course they'd headline if they were playing Pornography. For a start it's only a 45 minute album and they usually play sets over 2 hours. Also it's a cracker of an album. Anyone who doesn't worship it has no taste in music.

I agree, but Pornography is not going to pull in the casual fans or if it does then they'll be gone by the time they are half-way through!

Hell, the Cure can play 2 hours worth of hits and still miss out another 2 hour set worth of hits.

Right about the hits though, people don't realise how many famous Cure songs there are or don't realise how many Cure songs they like but don't know its them.
