I'd seen nin on both the arena dates that summer and those were bloody epic. Whilst the soni set was interesting I couldnt help being a little disappointed as it was the last time I'd get to see one of my fav bands. Especially when you see the set lists for their final US shows too...

Yeah, I never caught them at the arenas, due to no Scottish dates (besides TITP :( ) However I had seen them before Sonisphere so I'd heard a lot of the "hits" anyways, and as Kaos says, the set was really sincere and almost fitting for a goodbye show - although they'll be back, I'm sure of it, he's just said it's a touring hiatus whilst he does everything else he wants to do, he's still going to make music and is still continuing NIN.

GNR are announcing tour dates tomorrow, launching new website too I'd imagine - could have been part of the delay...even though Gods of Metal announced them before everyone else/the rest of their tour came out/GNR had confirmed it. Guessing they maybe jumped the gun!

Well, this week

Sonisphere finally broke their silence

and announced some of the bands that will be playing their Spanish and Finnish festivals this year. As yet there’s still no names for Knebworth, and

as Metal Hammer noted

, some of the names that are playing in Madrid and Helsinki are playing Download in the UK, and therefore seem highly unlikely to make the UK edition of Sonisphere. But it got us thinking – what bands

could

be playing at Knebworth this year?

Now if you’ve been

following us on Twitter

, you’ll know that we’ve said that we know at least two bands that will be playing the UK leg of Sonisphere 2012. And yes, both of them are in this week’s Slaylist. We’ve also added tracks from every other band we’ve heard rumoured to be playing Knebworth (although some of them we

know

are going to be playing Reading, Leeds or Download instead…), so perhaps we’ve got even more of the line-up right than we know. Only time will tell….

There’s at least one rumoured band that we’ve deliberately left off our Slaylist (not that they’re on Spotify, anyway). This band is one of the names that some people are throwing around as a potential headliner….but we happen to know that they are

definitely not

playing at Knebworth. Can anyone work out who it is we’re talking about?

Guess we'll have to wait for the actual announcement (whenever that may be) !?

Had thought Nightwish may be around with their new album, but doesnt look like they're doing the UK.

Just to add to the Guns & Roses comments, for all their failings I saw them at Leeds in 2001 (?) and the crowd seemed huge (they didnt do Reading). Everywhere I looked there were people trying to get a view, many more than for any other band I've seen. We (20 of us) were'nt expecting it to be perfect but thought we'd give it a go.

From our (reasonably drunk) perspective it was amazing. We based it purely on the music and crowd reaction, not whether our favourite guy was playing guitar or not. Also, everyone I heard on the way back to the tents was in kind of a hushed awe, all with great comments. It was one of the best gigs I have been to.

Sorry if you hate them, and I am sure that things may well have changed over the last 10 years, but that's my memory. It would be a shame if they played and were crap, although Axl has that capability at any time I guess.

For what it's worth Queen at a heavy rock festival doesn't suit. Maybe V or R&L, but they seem a little easy listening by comparison to the rest of the probable list. As to how they sound with the new guy, it would be harsh to judge without seeing them, as I found out in 2001.

Back to the sofa to veg out to Dream Theater

Cheers :bye:

No...Queen are on Spotify. Queen and Adam aren't I guess, but the set if they do tour isn't a queen and adam setlist as Queen with Adam L don't exist, as a band. It's just all Queen material with him singing.

It's Tool. They were a big rumour (cause of new album possibly being released, current North American Tour, and them being on the Scuzz thing), but aren't on Spotify.
