Joe-
Didn't particiularly mind her music. That was until her Glastonbury performance, the less said about that the better really.
Joe-
for someone who no one likes she's done well to sell all 120,000 tickets for her March tour.
Dave The Hedgehog
I saw her at Big Weekend... I don't mind her music that much either to be honest - not something I'd go out of my way and buy but I can ignore it when it's not being intrusive. My beef with her is the fact it IS being intrusive, and waved around in front of me, so it doesn't give me a chance to enjoy the prospect of 'discovering' an artist for myself. She's waived around in front of me like a severed head more or less every time I turn on the television; as if I'm supposed to listen to this music... I mean, I don't like being forcefed. So when I hear 'Shake It Up' used in coverage for something as nondescript as a football match, or like I said, some preview for a BBC program, it pisses me off. Florence + The Machine is basically just babyfood on a spoon being given to me by the BBC, and the BBC are going "here comes the aeroplane..." smogo
Also, she can't sing very well live, which I'd have thought was a pretty major impediment for a potentially festival-headlining singer.

dingbat2
Not sure if they have played before, but Portishead would make a cracking headliner for Bestival....

hazzamid11
Cheer up, there's always the Psychedelic Worm tent. I envision myself spending a lot of time in there again this year.
Dave The Hedgehog
I hope to spend some more time there this year than i did last year, would love to see British Sea Power in there at some point.
Shanndy
One headliner could be The Killers. They're showing on the lineup page on the Electric Picnic website, even though they weren't part of the original announcement. Also, they do love New Order, they even named themselves after the mocked-up band in New Order's 'Crystal' video.
hazzamid11
I spent pretty much all of Sunday afternoon in there last year and then returned at about 8 or 9 when I needed a place to feel less afraid of everything and everybody. Emeralds sorted that out no problem. Cracking little tent, actually, for those interested on alternative places to go.

Supernintendo Chalmers
I would be very disappointed with Florence & the Machine, New Order and say (for argument sake) Bloc Party as headliners. Maybe it shouldn't be the be-all and end-all but headliners are important to me. I'm already sold on the strong undercard so far and I have a ticket but having been to various festivals over the past few years I've been subjected to repeat bookings (Muse, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, KoL, Killers) all taking turns in playing each of the major events. Having seen the calibre of previous year's Bestival headliners I'm hoping that Rob da Bank pulls out a major surprise that no one's considered. Joe-
Yeah, that'd be a pretty uninspiring set of headliners, for Rob anyway. Need to get at least one left-field headliner. I know Bestival isn't about the headliners, really, but of course it's a nice thing to have a couple of bigger acts like 2011 The Cure and Bjork playing. Hoping it gets a bit crazy and we get something like Aphex Twin as one of the headliners. Bestival's the last place I want to see get 3 'safe' acts. Zacko
Second the shout for Portishead, that'd be fucking marvelous. Or Massive Attack? Has Rob ruled them out yet? Edited March 2, 2012 by Zacko
