Bestival 2012 Headliners

I think it was suggested last year that Brian Wilson's last ever UK festival performance was at Bestival, which made it all the more special when I saw him. Wasn't great though, if I'm honest, and the support band did most of the work. I honestly couldn't see The Beach Boys at Bestival. Glastonbury, maybe, if it was on, but not Bestival, mainly for reasons of cost but also because of prestige.

EDIT - apologies for the double post.

I do wonder why the third headliner's being announced so late (in May)? Surely the organisers want to sell out asap? Could leaving the announcement so late run the risk of those who are undecided committing to other festivals where the lineup has already been announced?

The third act must be booked otherwise would Rob da Bank wouldn't be so specific to confirm May as the date?

I did read that Prince is particularly difficult to nail down and only takes bookings on short notice. Maybe that's it?

That said, by my completely illogical powers of deduction, I'm going Chase & Status to follow The XX and Blur after Sigur Ros :-)

Hmm interesting.

Wonder why the delay till May? Guess if tickets ain't sold out by then, it gives it a boost at the start of festival season to announce.

Or could it be contractual reasons? Am assuming he must have them all booked by now?
