mrtourette
The Black Keys, The Subways and Korn added to Frequency (week before R&L).
Vieuphoria
Korn for Reading finally? Would be cool to see them there. Seems odd that they've never played considering how fucking huge they were. Plus, fucking great live act.

Vieuphoria
Gossip were announced for Melt too... I wouldn't mind seeing them on Mainstage. Quite like them. Not as an NME headliner though, that was a disaster.

Vieuphoria
I mean booking wise. I remember the crowd being largely non existant.
Vieuphoria
although am now watching the video of their set and the crowd looks larger than I remember. Maybe I was wrong? either way. great live band.

mrtourette
Bugger all in the initial Electric Picnic announcement that points to R&L other than what was already likely (Azealia Banks, Metronomy, etc.) It's an FR frestvial and The Cure are headling along with Elbow, the Latitude announcement on Monday should be interesting regarding The Cure. Vieuphoria
I so hope The Cure aren't at Latitude....
mrtourette
Green Day announced for Rock En Seine. Only possibility from the seven acts announced is Mark Lanegan, which we knew anyway. If their next announcement is before R&L's it may throw up some R1/NME possibilities. mrtourette
Pukkelpop have made their first announcement, most interesting possibility is that The Afghan Whigs are there so are definitely doing European festivals in August.
she bangs the drums
Mark Lanegan, Letlive, Every Time I Die have been announced for Pukkelpop the week before R & L with Mark Lanegan playing End of The Road and Rock en Seine so surely he will play the Festival Republic Stage? mrtourette
Yeah, it's been brought up all the various FR stage threads. I'll be very surprised if he isn't headlining it one night.
Vieuphoria
I'm hoping he's not on the FR this time. He'd headline and I already have two headliners. Plus his new album makes for a bigger stage. I'd prefer mid-day NME.
Vieuphoria
Also... Afghan Whigs ftw

5co77ie
Yeah I haven't seen them announced for any festival yet, so to see them doing one a week before R&L is good news. My only concern is that they seem to have a really high slot at Pukkelpop and I can't imagine they're any more popular in Belgium than they are here, maybe third in the tent won't be high enough for them. mrtourette
Not likely to what?
Vieuphoria
I think he's suggesting that they could be exclusive to ATP?
dirtymookie
Doesn't say anything about exclusive in that, just that some exclusives are to be announced.
she bangs the drums
Rock en Seine (same weekend as R & L) are announcing more bands tomorrow - anyone think we get some more bands today or tomorrow morning?
