Press Passes

Has anyone here had experience of trying to get press passes for festivals. I run a website abouts events in Yorkshire and want to cover the Leeds festival. Does anyone know how much press passes cost?

Press passes are free, although most festivals I've been to require you to make a "suggested" donation when you arrive. I think the press accreditation opens in about June or July (possibly through the Hall or Nothing website, can't quite remember), and you have to fill out a form to apply with the details of your publication.

To be honest you'll be hard pressed trying to get a press pass for such a major festival unless you work for a large publication. They tend to give priority to print media like magazines and newspapers, and then a handful of larger websites and agencies. It's even tougher trying to get a photopass. But you can only try, you'll never know otherwise.
