bpriggsc
I'm looking for more festivals to attend this summer. I've been to 3 for the past few years, Redfest and Leefest, which are small local festivals, then I go to Reading which I think is great, however I want to go to more this year. I'm not to bothered about the price, or if there big or small festivals, just want to know the best festivals with 100 miles of London for rock music. If anybody has any suggestions let us know, cheers!
eFestivals
GuilFest has a pretty strong rock line-up on what was called 'The Big Cheese Cave' last year (it was the Rocksound Cave before that). They've not announced any acts for that stage for this year yet, but last year it had acts including Funeral For A Friend, My Passion, Pure Reason Revolution, Attack! Attack!, Skindred, Sonic Boom Six, Dinosaur Pile Up, The Xcerts, Gallows and more.
bpriggsc
I've had a look at GuilFest but the line ups the past couple of years haven't really been for me. Any other suggestions?
Jenny Knight
Depends on your definition of "rock". If it includes Hawkwind, Booker T, The Damned, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Boomtown Rats, John Otway, King Mob (Chris Spedding, Glen Matlock Martin Chambers et al), The Groundhogs, Here & Now, Eddie & The Hot Rods - to name but ten - try Rhythm Festivals, held in Bedfordshire over the August Bank Holiday Weekend (24-26) here: www.rhythmfestival.com And that list doesn't include the Folk Festival stage (Peatbog Faeries, Strawbs, Jim Moray, Show of Hands, Scott Matthews, Lau) or the Blues Festival Stage (Wilko Johnson, The Blues Band, Oli Brown and loads more). All for £99.00.

Magic42
If you like Redfest and Leefest you should find Blissfields interesting, only local lineup released so far but we are pretty indie, although have many other genres. https://blissfields.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/Blissfields efest review from last year: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/blissfields/2011/review-dayone.shtml http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/blissfields/2011/review-daytwo.shtml and a gallery: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/blissfields/2011/galleries.shtml maybe see in in June....
