LondonTom
My apologies on the mistake of calling Northern Ireland part of Britain Anyway agreed, I can see what they tried to do but they are far better bands from each country (Maybe not wales ) Ah well saves me forking out another 50 quid

LondonTom
Yeah but Manics are on a break are they not? I very much doubt Aphex Twin/Bullet would have gone down well ..Maybe got away with Goldie Lookin Chain.
JC-Mo'Fucka
Surely this would sell terribly if they don't add more. And i they did it would just become a hackney weekend job where the bands get 6 song sets.
Frankly Mr Shankly
Well so much for us all throwing massive names around, this is a shocking line up, I don't mind Duran Duran but they're hardly 'current', 'massive' or even riding the reunion hype. guitarbhoy1888
I'm sure this will sell out. its a good lineup to represent the uk, just no massive names. my only reasoning for not going is that I'm from glasgow and am already going to blur on another note. I'm certain that the special guest for the blur gig is gonna be elbow .... think about it. the 4 acts for the opener are big, no one small act (bombay bicycle club) and they're doing the olympic song. proper british too :/
SoLoCo
Duran Duran headlining? Seems a bit odd to me. On a related note, anybody have any news on when the Special Guest slot for the closing ceromony will be announced? The day tickets were on it stated it would be in the next few weeks but yet to here anything. Hoping for Macca!

Justiceforcedave
Ray Davies or Noel Gallagher would be lovely....but very unlikely.
TheSeventhOne
Good lord, that's pretty woeful. Presumably they couldn't get Coldplay, Adele or Pet Shop Boys so they settled for bargain bin versions of all three. Not a patch on the closing concert. Bobs
.Anyone seen any coach companies doing coaches (shockingly enough) to The Blur concert?

Kierkegaard
London Live have been trailing about an announcement from a 'very special London landmark' today. They've just tweeted that they're at the BT Tower. Perhaps they're about to release the full two-week programme for Hyde Park?

jump
http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/12/120515g.shtml Anyone read the article about contactless payments at Wireless this year? Sounds like efests is against it and it does sound stupid (especially the £20 at a time) but I may try it as they seem to give you an extra £5 for using it. Where's the freedom in queuing up like a muppet to have your every action tracked? I'm sure some people will love them, just as they love a dancing dog. Festivals are dead maaan, dog shows are where it's at now.
