Nirvana's second album was more accessible than bleach and broke into the mainstream consciousness.

Same as el camino has. Think he was trying to say if you criticize black keys for doing it you're a hypocrite if you don't feel the same about nirvana.

Could be wrong though haha

And if they keep pumping on the same type of albums they'd get slagged off for making the same old shit each time, they cant win. If you listen through the albums you can see the progression from the earlier stuff, then "attack and realease" and "magic potion" and then onto the latest albums, Ive got no problem with their direction. IMO Little Black Submarine is one of their best songs, just wanted to throw that out there as well.

Bands change their sound all the time, sometimes they'll get accused of selling out when they do and sometimes it's genuinely becuse they've changed or because they're bored and want to do something else. Changing itself isn't wrong but doing it just for money and fame is the isuue, but unless someone knows for a fact that the reason they changed their sound was for money and fame rather than boredom and experimentation then the argument will just keep going round in a circle.

Theyve always been into money, but so what, musicians have to pay bills. Theyve been licensing their music to films, tv and video games since "The big come up", so theyve always been trying to get their music into the mainstream in one way or another. Its better than Brian May who'll collaborate with any prick who waves a wod of cash in his direction.
