Welshyyy
My mate seems to think that Foo fighters will play a total different set at Reading(if they headline the Sunday) because of the 20th anniversary of Nirvana playing? Will they play the same sets and both Reading and Leeds? or is he right in thinking Reading will have a different set?
kaosmark2
There's usually a couple of songs different between sets. They're not usually identical. And no, I doubt Grohl will do anything particularly special for the anniversary of Nirvana.

DL50
Grohl has brought on special guests before so you never know he could have something lined up for Reading.

PurpleFire
Foo Fighters will never play the same set both nights! Reading full be full of guests coming on stage, Leeds wont!
Dan R
Foo fighter do bring on special guests quite often and guests are probably more willing to appear at Reading for the television coverage. Though that might come at the cost of a few extra Foo's songs. And I do think that DG will make a slight deal out of it being the 20th anniversary, especially as he's apparently very fond of Reading anyway. I doubt there'd be any major difference between the sets though.

dentalplan
There's a possibility Krist could come on for I Should Have Known and they could play Marigold (Nirvana b-side, written by Dave), but that'd be about it.
kev1664
I very much doubt they will play too different sets, like people have previously said, they may bring a guest or two on, but thats about it. I'm thinking though they will play a few less off of Wasting light as opposed to last years set lists. It will be more a greatest hits set all the way through, especially with only a two hour slot. It would be nice to see them get a little longer. I might actually be able to get in the front section this time though, at MK it was a huge let down that you had to be there early to get the chance to get a wristband for the area closest the stage, it was half empty for Biffy, they could have easily done a one in one out system. Mouseboy11
I hope they play big me this time, it wasn't played at Mk
Tolnai Soma
I was crying when Dave played "Wheels" at T last summer.
Mouseboy11
Best of you at MK was amazing, the crowd were singing on for about 5 minutes going "Woooaaaahhh" was really emotional haha

lightning1000
and dave generally doesn't play his allocated time he basically told the T organisers they'll have to cut the power if they try to get him off when he's supposed too love him !! guitarbhoy1888
fair enough I'm sure they played for about half an hour longer at T last year because T's sunday curfew is 11 and not 12 as normal :/

RichieParf
My thought, and its entirely pie in the sky, was they could do one or two nirvana songs right at the end with a guest singer (only one I can think who could pull it off would be Chris Cornell). Or maybe do an instrumental as a tribute to Kurt? I'd be suprised though - I imagine he'll just do one of his tear-jerker Grohl speeches. RichieParf
Nah I think they came on early to play their full set. He says they're gonna keep playing till they stop them all the time. It's just to get cheers from the crowd. Pure showmanship and nothing else haha. Can't speak for other fests but reading definitely pulled the plug on axl and friends in 10. They basically sat on the stage and tried to play acoustically.
Vieuphoria
To be honest I don't think there is much chance of it happening. But if there was going to be a Nirvana tribute made at some point... the most touching way of doing it would be to have Krist on Bass, Dave on Drums... an the crowd singing the words. mrtourette
I don't understand why some people seem so desperate for the legacy of such an important band and one that Reading evidently holds close to it's heart to be ruined in a crass way, especially when those closest to the situation have done so much over the last 18 years to stop that happening and to keep it respectful and low-key (apart from Courtney of course). Foos headling will be a celebration of Foos coming back to a festival they enjoy and not Nirvana, of course everyone will be aware of the situation and I'm sure there will be a few words referencing the past, but any special guests or changing the set list will be because that's what the Foos do and not as some homage to Nirvana.
