Seinfeld?

The Simpsons (first 10 years)?

Curb Your Enthusiasm?

South Park?

The Office?

Arrested Development?

Frasier? Roseanne?

Good sarcasm in there. But comedy is subjective, e.g. I think Big Bang Theory is pretty decent, funny in parts. I certainly wouldn't suggest liking it is a sign of a lack of intelligence, as was bafflingly suggested above

Hey guys long time lurker here,

I'd just like to wade into the whole 'who's more reliable than who' discussion. I posted on these forums under my Facebook name (Joe Pape for anyone who cares enough to find it) with the full line-up on the day, albeit badly formatted as I was in a rush, and I was laughed off the site.

I was also the first person to post the correct headliners. I did this on the Official Forums and if anyone cares enough then I'll retrieve the link for you.

I'm not doing this for any sort of self gratification and I'm aware that this is not going to be a popular post but I just felt another perspective could be used. This is a fantastic website and watching bands go from R to SR to TBC is incredibly exciting and it is done with accuracy not seen elsewhere on the internet. Hats off to Neil and his sources for that. But there's no need to abuse Strictly, a fansite that doesn't stress ITK status (just to clarify I'm not a mod or owner or anything of the site)

The line-up prediction with the Killers subbing was laughable but I seem to remember eFestivals saying The Cure were 90 something % likely to not play Reading and a few other instances like that (10D etc.), so it's not like anyone's perfect.

Once again, I'm not trying to antagonize anyone and I welcome discussion on any of my points but I think the Strictly bashing has gone a tad far. Sorry for straying off topic :P

I don't ever claim to be the only person who knows stuff. That would be very silly.

The issue with what you posted is one of your reputation - which is the same issue I'm dealing with with everything I get sent (and I get sent a huge amount of stuff, from people deliberately trying to feed me lies, to people who are simply mistaken with what they believe they know, to those who do have the inside line). If your words had been taken seriously then there would have been a ground-swell of opinion of the right headliners - and their defo wasn't.

(And of course, if you get good info then I'll be very happy to hear from you. :) ... by email to weebmaster@efestivals.co.uk is the best way.)

It's certainly true that for a long time I thought The Cure as very unlikely for R/L (rather strangely, I actually had the info in-house at efestivals since the 2011 festival - but the numptie hadn't mentioned it, not realising its significance). But that's because I had no solid info, and they were a rather strange booking for R/L to make (isn't it funny how different it looks after a few months for people to come to terms with it, and the shows going down well?) - so in the absence of solid info they'd make a very leftfield guess.

I work from info that I get. The info I get can only ever be as good as it is at the moment it's acquired (such as was the case with Ten D this year), and if I have no info then I have no info. And (as was the case with NoFX this year) sometimes the info I get is deduced from something else that's not 100% explicit, which can lead to errors.

What I don't do is make stuff up, and neither do I make ridiculous claims of what I haven't made up. Those things are the domain of Strictly, and there's nothing wrong or abusive with stating that fact. ;)

Disagree slightly, wether confirmed or not, 99% of people on here had predicted Foo's ever since 2011's R&L, after them heading T and IOW only, it was obvious!

So whereas you did confirm, some things are just natural.

No, it was obvious only after Grolh was interviewed around those shows, and info was passed to efests about what he'd said but what wasn't published by those interviewers.

It was only after I'd said here what he'd said that "it was obvious!". ;)

Disagree with you hear. You can't say always. Virtual in 2010 outdone you and strictly. 1st site to say Guns and Roses to headline and you can't deny it as you needed to confirm from a source yourself after both Virtual And Keese came up with the info. You had solid info on the other two but that you did not, nor had even heard about it. Sometimes, you just need to accept that people still find you overall more reliable than others and people would accept you being wrong sometimes if your arrogance of being right wasn't so out there.

Care to show me where I've ever said that no one has ever been right before me?

Dick.

I don't think you were laughed off the site, only one person called bullshit and he's a tit anyway. A few people questioned it as you had a collection bands from each day across the main and NME stages but didn't split the stages, so it looked like you were saying that The Cribs were playing under Mystery Jets for example. You also missed some bands out so it looked like certain bands were playing higher than they ended up, but I'm guessing that wasn't your intention and was just misinterpreted. I pointed out at the time that you had the right bands but in the wrong order, I guess people read your post as a full line-up when really it was just a collection of bands in no particular order.

As I discovered even if you have the press release and know the announcement people will naturally doubt you. The Keith Allen thing didn't work out though :P

As for strictly, there's probably more bashing because they've done their fair share of efests bashing and some of the guys who set up that site aren't particularly popular posters either on here or on the official forums.

I got sick of them because Janus the Anus is a spamming, lying, spoilt little brat with a brain the size of a pea.

I've not had to leave here to form that opinion of him. I wouldn't even know he existed is he'd not come here spamming, lying, and acting like a spoilt little brat with a brain the size of a pea.

Facts are facts.

The Killers getting their arena tour done and dusted before 2013 - they have to be favourites to headline R&L next year, right?

Also, Alt-J playing some pretty big venues on their tour, academy level including Brixton. Will be near the top of the NME stage next year I expect (Horrors sort of level), especially if they win the Mercury Prize.
