2013 Lineup

Same i think that the stadium show could rule them out, but then on the other hand the fact that they were at Reading, obviously being back stage talking to organizers etc means that they could be more likely

Seems 50/50 atm, just getting bored of them being rumoured every year!

Foos & Manics have done it on a 3 year gap, it's more the case of have they done anything to warrant returning in which case yes. The only other fest that seems right for them would be either Glasto or Bestival and one is (probably) too big and the other is (probably) too small for them. Not that I'm saying they are likely for R&L merely a possibility.

You mean Linkin Park aren't playing next year :(

I wouldn't even rule Green Day out completely, sure they're doing their own stadium gig but it's only one and it's 10 weeks before R&L. FR don't like that sort of thing but I'm sure they'd take the plunge if they wanted them badly enough. Not sure if their secret set this year makes them more or less likely though.

Probably because Bestival increases capacity every year.

There was an interview with them last year about Glaso and they said something along the lines of "we weren't ready or the time wasn't right" which I took to mean they wanted to play as headliners but they weren't quite at that staus yet so I can't see them subbing.

I think Glasto will be 3 of the following 6:

Arcade Fire

Arctic Monkeys

Radiohead

Stone Roses

Rolling Stones

Fleetwood Mac

Can see Arcade Fire doing it because they are definitely big enough and it seems like its the last big thing that they haven't done over here. And obviously their live show will create an amazing atmosphere there

It's not so much are Arcade Fire big enough it's do with do the Eavises think they are big enough to headline (remember Michael Eavis got Jay Z to headline despite not knowing who he was) and they may have better options out there. I can't see Artcic Monkees ever headlining Glasto again and Gaga is probably in with a shout.

Arctic Monkeys obviously less likely than the others but just thought i'd throw them into the mix because they were backstage last time at Glasto, new album next year, 6 years since they've headlined etc

And as for Gaga, i doubt they would throw in another female headliner so soon

I've seen them several times and '09 was probably the worst. They were still alright, but I think the fact they came on after Prodigy and Humbug, whic they played several of, had only just come out really didn't help them. I saw them the Wednesday of that week doing a warm up gig at Brixton and they were very good.

I can imagine the first aid tent after The Prodigy must have been like a scene in a war film. I heard so many horror stories about people getting crushed and being trampled on and whatnot. Girls having panic attacks, swarms of people trying to get out making the crushes worse. I deliberately stood near the back of the crowd because I knew this would happen, in contrast to when I was near the front for Ian Brown and Eagles Of Death Metal earlier that day, neither of which set I felt uncomfortable at any time during.

It was still a great set and Arctics were an anti-climax after, just like KOL were after Kaiser Chiefs who, to everyone's surprise, stole the show that year!
