The Black Keys have been voted most likely to headline in the future from also mentioned are Vaccines, Of Monters & Men, Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicyle Club, Alabama Shakes, Lana Del Ray, You Me At Six, Passion Pit and Joy Formidable.

All of them are bit meh to be headline in the future imo.

This really is the period of the dull indie band, isn't it? There's nothing particularly original or inspiring about their music and they'd make for tediously boring headliners. If this is the future, I'm not sure the big festivals will be for me.

Vaccines are already starting to look like the fizzle is gone by the 2nd album.

I've not heard the 2nd album. In fact I've not heard the first. I didn't even know if I knew any of their songs until I saw them last week.

That aside, they were on fire. They're far from being my bag, but I know a good live band when I see one.

So in many ways they now have me thinking of Kasabian, who've churned out ever-worse albums but got ever more popular. And then of course there's the band that Kasabian have modelled themselves on who did the same.

The one difference I'm seeing is that, as far as I'm aware, The Vacc's aren't going around telling everyone that they're something that they're not, so perhaps it won't go the exact same way. But I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

Well, for a couple of years I guess, but for some reason, seeing bands like TDCC, BBC and The Vaccines (who offer nothing original and are full of dull personalities) being touted as future headliners and loved by 'my' generation (I'm 18) is making me feel really bleak about the line-ups for big festivals in the future because current headline-size bands that I love won't stick around forever.

Well I suppose it's easy to saynow that a current popular 'indie' band will headline, but that isn't always the case that they all will. I'm sure one will make it out of that pack to headline (as we've seen with Franz, Razorlight), but I don't think all three will as some new band will come along soon.

After all not so long ago, I'm sure people were probably saying The Klaoxns and The Pigeon Detectives would be future headliners.

Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Blur, Pulp (not totally headline-size), The Cure, Jay-Z/Kanye, Pearl Jam. There's a bunch that could headline some festivals (but would be below that at the big UK festivals), e.g. Pixies, Bjork, Daft Punk, Jack White, Bon Iver. I can only think of three bands that are being touted as possible future headliners that interest me: The XX, Bon Iver and Friendly Fires.
