Speculation about RATM recording a new album at the moment. If it's true they would be a great headliner next year. Only if the album is out though.

I imagine Palma Violets will get a substantial bump, on the cover of NME this week already.

Why don't you think The xx will play R1/NME? Headlining would probably be perfect for them because they can get the suitable darkness for the slot whereas if they played Main, it would be 3rd down and in complete daylight.

Been playing main stage at big festivals all summer and cant see them going back down to second stage.

I didnt think they could cut it on big festival stages, but they totally owned it when I saw them.

Aswel as that I personally think they will go bigger in the next few months with the awards(brits,nme). Depending on the strength of the lineup I wouldnt be suprised if they even subbed, imo they wont play lower than third.

The xx's crowd would be too big for the NME - unless they were up against a popular indie headliner, but then again why would they be.

Also, I think the light show is a non-issue. You could say similar about Crystal Castles and they played main stage at 4 this year.

Out of the bands the NME are spunking over at the moment, I'd much rather Savages get pushed up to bigger things, as they're so much better than Palma Violets who sound quite dull to me, whereas Savages are like a twist on Yeah Yeah Yeahs which can't be a bad thing .
