bullet will reach it, whether it be next year or 2014 for download. depends on their new album as well... but the thing is when AC got asked about whether they would headline if they had another successful album and he said yes. to be honest i think download are pushing them up just because they are the biggest british metal band around at the moment..

Slipknot went through a very noticeable change between their debut album and Vol 3. They've never quite managed to shake off the image that the first two albums created for them though. I've had so many friends who outright refused to take Slipknot seriously but who changed their tune drastically when they listened to songs like Vermillion and Duality.

Not really I would bundle them in with Bring Me The Horizion etc naff scremo music that is rarely enjoyed by anyone over the age of 18 but they aren't really like AX7 who themselves are in fact (as previously mentioned) boyband metal.

And on Bullet I think Fever is their weakest album to date. Bit cheesy.

A few debut albums that beat Arctic Monkeys (off the top of my head, and just my personal opinion of course)

G N' R - Appetite For Destruction

Pearl Jam - Ten

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine

Weezer - The Blue Album

Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (counted as her debut outside of Canada)

Oasis - Definitely Maybe

Slipknot - Slipknot

Whoever claimed Arctic Monkeys had the best debut ever, I implore you to listen to the following;

The Smiths - The Smiths

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

Oasis - Definitely Maybe

Pixies - Surfer Rosa

Ramones - Ramones

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

Kanye West - The College Dropout

Pavement - Slanted And Enchanted

LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem

The Strokes - Is This It

The Smashing Pumpkins - Gish

Modest Mouse - This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About

I just came up with those off the top of my head, there's many many better.

Daft Punk - Homework

Bjork - Debut

Massive Attack - Blue Lines

Battles - Mirrorred

Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust

Belle and Sebastien - Tigermilk

Suicide - Suicide

The Stooges - The Stooges

SOAD - SOAD

Throwing Muses - Throwing Muses

Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog

R.E.M. - Murmur

Mogwai - Young Team

Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico

and that's not even including ones mentioned so far. I'm sure I could find more if I actually looked through my collection.

Also, I back Unknown Pleasures for best British debut.
