2rare2die
Not yet! But you know what this forums like the more people talk about it the more they think it will happen. Blur for example, people thinking it was going to sell out straight away etc etc. Cant see why people think nin would headline though, they were nowhere near headlining when they split, but saying that pulp were not either. The smiths will never reform, But everyone said that a year or so ago.
Whittick
To everyone saying NIN ar still together, Trent formed a new band- How to Destroy Angels, with his new wife. I have to say, they are very good.
kev1664
They subbed R/L and put on the performance of the weekend. The following year they sold out an arena tour and subbed only Metallica at Soni. On top of that, reunions tend to ramp up excitement and popularity as it's been a lot longer since people had a chance to see them. And I don't reckon NIN will reform for a few years yet, and the music scene will have changed during that time, and I expect a lot of that will include the decline of popularity of guitar music and festivals. And the Smiths, thankfully, will never reform.
Whittick
I honestly don't think guitar music can fall any lower than it is at the minute, I think there will be a resurgence pretty soon. However I do agree that the fad of festivals will soon wear thin. There are far too many and at a ridiculous price now. I honestly think the reason the fests are struggling is the price now, that people just are not willing to pay so it will soon decline. AcademicPistol
Speaking of the awesome NIN & Tool anyone remember this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tapeworm_(band) It would have been interesting if they released something.

Hart Attack
New posters - unless I made mistakes, there are no bands at all from either festival's 2012 line-ups included, and no bands from the 2011 line-ups at the same festival. Tried to go with a good mix of genres, with plenty of bands that haven't played for a while/at all.

Hart Attack
It's the (AIC aside) whole day of crappy nu-metal bands under Maiden that gets me about DL. And Arch Enemy are too big for the 3rd stage, they're similar size to Opeth who are 3rd on the 2nd this year. That Reading lineup is just awful as well. AcademicPistol
Ah... the infamous Hart Attack posters they will be the rumours for next year then By the way the Saturdays (not the band ) at both the festivals are horrendous. kaosmark2
There are only two nu-metal bands on that day/stage though, Bizkit and Roach... how did you get a 'whole day' from that? Arch Enemy had the same slot as Architects at Sonisphere last year, I figure that means they're around the same size. Architects would surely fit that slot, so in theory they should too. Based on the same logic, Arch Enemy aren't as big as Opeth are they? They were in a much lower slot at Sonisphere...
BTK1609
I quite like your two posters Hart Attack, especially the first and third days. I agree with the above though the middle day for each is a bit pish. I'm a bit gutted I can't do Download next year but my mates wedding probably has to take precedence the selfish bugger! 2rare2die
Sum 41. Stone Sour is pushing the definition I guess, but Slipknot were. Arch Enemy have done co-headlining tours with Opeth a couple of times. Pretty much the same size.
Gucci Piggy
Anyone know whether Refused's reunion is just for this year or whether they'll be around next Summer too?
Vieuphoria
I got the impression it was a one off, but could become a more permanent thing. They seemed really humbled by the response at Coachella. I hope it lasts, and I guess they do too.
Gucci Piggy
Oh ok. Well it seems like it's going well so far, so I think there's a chance of them being around next year. I've included them in my 2013 prediction. However, they are subbing to YM@6 on the NME, which I know is a massive crime against music, but I'm making entirely unbiased predictions
