BTK1609
It is easily as realistic as your line up and better! I could have stuck the likes of Pearl Jam, Green Day and NIN down if I was just going for what I wanted but I can't see them being there. Frankly Mr Shankly
Biffy are subbing Download this year, it'd take a big album to give them a push to headliner for next yearI can't see Metallica headlining the year after they've done Download (plus they've over done the UK festival market anywaySmashing Pumpkins is unrealistic, they just aren't the draw they once where and no doubt Billy would demand a massive slotThere's little to no evidence of Blur being around for festivals next yearMassive Attack aren't suited to the Festival, they'd need a big slot & just wouldn't get it. Much more suited to Latitude, Big Chill, Bestival, Glasto. So no, it wasn't as realistic and as for the rest, yeah they're probably likely, but they're the same bands who do the festival circuit every other year, so it's no more innovative than the bands I predicted. Frankly Mr Shankly
In such hard times for Festivals there's no way Melv would snub the chance to book RHCP, they might not be as massive as they once where, but they'd still shift the tickets... I would much rather R/L book Blur, Smashing Pumpkins, Massive Attack etc than the bands I predicted, I just think what I put was more realistic for what next years festival might look like. Agree to disagree? Moving on.

Frankly Mr Shankly
Very true, they're nowhere near as big as they once where. But their arena tour last year sold out in seconds & I did see them in Birmingham, wasn't expecting much after the reviews in recent years but I have to say they blew me away, it was as if they'd found a new life as a band, totally full of energy... Yes the stadium sized shows aren't sold out yet, but how many of R/L's headliners in recent years can sell out stadiums at £50/60 a ticket? Certainly not Kasabian & probably not the Cure either. Mouseboy11
Still think Slipknot would put on Hell of a performance as a headliner. I think Sonisphere last year was better than Download.
Frankly Mr Shankly
The arena tour definitely didn't sell out in seconds. Tickets were available for months, I'm sure. But I agree with you on how good they were live! I think the addition of Josh Klinghoffer has instilled some new found energy into them

Vieuphoria
Surely there are plenty of bookings this year that show there is a place for metal at Reading
Gucci Piggy
Did it not? I was under the impression it did, or at least the initial dates did? Then extra dates where added which probably didn't sell out instantly? Either way, I agree with Josh being a good addition & I still maintain they'd shift tickets at R/L. AcademicPistol
I would love RHCP to bounce back and prove themselves again, I didn't see them in 07 why were they so bad? Don't pounce on me I hear people say they sucked all time but never give reasons.

Gucci Piggy
From what I've heard and seen from videos it was just a really tired, tedious performance, with a setlist based majorly around an album people didn't like.
