I've been going to titp for 4 years now and this was my first year at Leeds, the behaviour of campers at Leeds is far more civilised, i felt people actually came for the music, whereas at titp it's more a competition of who can get more drunk/high

I think the whole 'everyone at R+L is there to get pissed up and not see any bands' thing is exaggerated a lot on here. I may go again next year, depending on the lineup, but I certainly wouldn't say that the crowd at Reading is enough to put me off going.

Also I don't understand why people on here have a problem with people not seeing any bands over the weekend? It's their money they've spent on the ticket - if they choose to waste it by sitting around instead of seeing bands then why should you care?

I'm not saying people shouldn't point out that it's stupid, but to not go to the festival anymore because some people at the festival aren't there for the music is just ridiculous.

Festival attendees, especially those who post of a festival-related website year round, like to think of themselves as proper music fans and therefore look down on anyone who may not be up to the required standard of music fandom.

Anyway as dentalplan says I think you're exagerrating the issue, I don't remember many people 'on here' saying that they won't be going to the festival again because some other people go and don't see any bands.

But still people moan about it as though they have no right to be there. If they wanna spend £200 on a 5-day camp with their mates, with tens of thousands of other likeminded people, and late-night entertainment every night, then they're well within their rights to do so.

I'm fine with people that spend £220 and see no acts (may have not got that impression from me earlier) it is just that I don't get why? They probably won't go into the arena anyway so they won't bother me during my favourite aspect of the festival

I think it's more that the people who sit drinking all day are more likely to be the ones who are abusive and disrespectful of other people and their property. If they're not then I'm fine with that but I imagine that's all anyone really has a problem with; people being dickheads. I care about people paying £220 to be dickheads to other people.

Yeah, I'd be wary of camping near anyone who seemed to have spent £200+ to not go see any bands in case they had ulterior motives such as stealing from tents

I don't have a problem with it as long as they aren't being rude, disrespectful etc. but I don't see why they do it - seems like a massive waste of money to me. Personally I was in the arena before 12 everyday

I went to the arena everyday at 11 so I could take a dump in those nice, freshly clean toilets. Pretty much the best part of my day tbh.

I did this but I went at around 11:30 but the toilets were still nice (I just used the ones near the FR tent as less people seemed to use them)

I went at about 6pm one day and it was emmaculate. There wasn't even any poo in the toilet, it was like it hadn't been used all day. It was wonderful.

You're a braver man than I am. I went for one on Friday last year and jumped up on the seat and squatted and almost threw up because of the smell.

I went once on the Wednesday and I thought about squatting then just thought "fuck it" and just sat down on the seat as it wouldn't be bad then

When we slept in the car last year because our tent flooded, my mate needed a dump so bad that he ran across the car park in just his boxers, no shoes, to the hedges to try and go.
