Yeah I predicted Watch the Throne; one can dream. I'll admit my line up is probably too good to happen but I'm remaining hopeful.

Here's something a bit more realistic but still pretty good IMO:v80eo.jpg

Would be very surprised to get both prodigy and arctic monkeys, who will both be promoting new albums, as exclusives. But other then that and the fact I think the lineup is for the most part terrible, it's more likely yeah :P

That would be a horrific lineup and probably the worst the festival has ever seen, I pray to god things never get that bad!

It's gonna be 'that bad' next year.

The notion of Vaccines, Paramore, TDCC, You Me at Six, Enter Shikari, Foster the People, Noah and the Whale, Bastille and [possibly] Crystal Castles getting bumped up is getting regularly trashed in this thread. Hate to admit it, but these are bands popular with the demographic that are on the up. At least six of those names will be there next year in a prominent position. Like it or not.

Yep, we all want a line-up full of 90s acts but the truth is, I can sense that like this year and last the line-up will just have current acts below the top two.

I expect to see Peace and Swim Deep playing 3rd next year...

Not quite that drastic but I can see You Me at Six, TDCC and Foster the People being contenders for third.

This is my prediction:

Main:

Jack White (Co-headline)

The Black Keys (Co-headline)

The Maccabees

Peace

Miles Kane

Cage The Elephant

NME:

Noah and The Whale

Of Monsters and Men

Jessie Ware

Main:

Metallica

30 Seconds to Mars

You me at Six

Rise Against

The Hives

The Joy Formidable

NME:

Crystal Castles

Frank Ocean

Daughter

Main:

Arctic Monkeys

The Vaccines

Vampire Weekend

Haim

Mystery Jets

Tribes

NME:

MGMT

Everything Everything

CHVRCHES

I think this is a realistic line up that would sell tickets and has some good acts, also to all the people suggesting Bastille, surely they would go V?!?

I see 30 STM happening. I don't see TBK co-headlining, they could sub again, but I think they'll drop just short of headline, might be wrong.

YMA6 I see in the NME tent, I don't think they'll just bump up to 3rd. Think Rise Against could sub them.

Yeah I figured neither Jack white nor tbk could headline on their own, but as co-headliners it would be a great booking

This isn't really relevant to 2014 at all, but the way Melvin has chatted about Foals after both the R/L & Latitude announcements makes me think they'll be headlining in a few years time. Obviously its reliant on them maintaining their popularity & releasing 1/2 more quality records (both of which I'm confident they can do), but I think its clear from the slots he's given them this summer that he's testing the water. 3rd at Reading to really see how well they go down with the crowd (which should be a given anyway) and headliner at Latitude to see if they can pull of a top of the bill festival set.

As I say, probably not going to happen in the next couple of years, but I definitely think its a possibility.

Is everyone predicting Watch The Throne just because we have Eminem this year? I'd like to think he's a bit of a blip from the rock/indie headliners, and we'll be back to normal next year.

Exactly my thinking, I doubt just because there's a hip hop headliner this year means we'll get one every year, didn't happen last time he headlined

2014:

Download: Avenged Sevenfold, Foo Fighters, RATM

Reading: Metallica/Black Sabbath, Blur, The Prodigy

V: Coldplay, Muse, ?

2015:

Download: Def Leppard, Muse, AC/DC

Reading: Paramore, Artic Monkeys, Metallica/Black Sabbath

V: Whomever is popular at the time

Really can't see Download going until at least 2016 without Metallica being there again
