Think 30STM might have a shot at headlining soon aswell

I was just gonna say that I have a bad feeling that 30stm could be in the running to headline next year. It would be a massive travesty though, especially if a good solid live act such as QOTSA are ignored in favour of them.

As much as I like Queens I wouldn't call them a solid live act, they seem to jump from fucking brilliant to fucking boring quite a lot.

In comparison to 30stm though, who can't really be considered a decent live act when 25% of their performance is missing (ie the vocals). An act that actually performs their songs as opposed to girls screaming at someone for being famous.

Pretty good but I think there are a couple of acts like Stone Sour, Alice in Chains and Korn who I don't think Reading would book anymore; also I think deadmau5 headlining NME would be too expensive.

Stone Sour, Alice in Chains and Korn have all never played R&L before.

Exactly why I included them, something a bit different to add some variety. We usually get a few Download-y bands anyway; Deftones, System Of A Down, Bring Me The Horizon, While She Sleeps, Bullet For My Valentine, Mastodon, Coheed & Cambria...

Sorry I didn't word myself properly; I meant that they aren't the sort of bands that Reading would book any more. In the past they could've been in with a shout but I just don't think the demographic fits now.

... so no band right now that isn't headlining will ever headline?

I think what he means is they're a band who will never be popular enough to headline. To be honest despite them climbing up the bill outside of R&L I don't see them as a band that are getting bigger; if you look at the tour they did in 2007 I doubt they would be able to manage that now (a 14 date tour which included 2 nights at Manchester Apollo and 2 nights at Wolverhampton Civic Hall) and when they played Hammersmith in 2010 the tickets sold far quicker than when they did it last year. Although they have a great cult fanbase at R&L that won't ever be enough to push them to headline.

Love the lineup. However, as I may have said before.....

Arctics and prodigy both have new albums coming out. Alot of fests are gonna be wanting them and I'll be very surprised if reading get both as exclusives, especially as they cater to pretty much any other fests markets. Metallica only really cater to reading and download which is why I reckon they are more likely.

Other then that, I really doubt stone sour will play - could have been booked before if they were ever interested and their new albums pretty damn heavy again. Same with Alice in chains, I don't think reading care for those kinda old and not really in demand bands anymore although it would be sweet. Korn on the other hand I could see playing, especially if they do another dance rock album.

However, if it was like that, I would def go.

Edit # oh and hart, could you message me how you do those realistic lineups, I gather photoshop but the templates and having them so neat etc, would love to know!

this is true, the crowd sing more than them, but 30 STM are headlining R&L before QOTSA do.

agreed ES have probably gone past the point of ever getting that high. I bet they'd struggle to sell out an arena tour and they don't touch close to them when they do tour. i think they'll get the push to 3rd/nme header but not beyond, they'd look the most out of place sub headliner.
