Scissor Sisters actually put out some bloody brilliant songs, but I know what you mean. I'm looking forward to the album & what all these collaborations are going to sound like.

I agree, a guilty pleasure of mine! But I'd prefer if Scissor Sisters did their thing and Queens did theirs :P

Alex Turner is on Queens Of The Stone Age's album, but Queens don't sing proper tunes about real life in Britain. Dunno what to make of this

@totes_indie Josh Homme produced Humbug, he turned them into Grunge shite #HeIsNotTheMod

@MichaelNewman96 A ginger American plantpot who sings heavy metal grunger shit, he's as far from being the mod as you can get.

I don't want it to be too accessible.

Does that make me a dick?

No, I get what you mean, and I agree- it would be annoying if they suddenly went all mainstream.

That said I get the feeling that the album is shaping up to be their most universally popular so far, whilst retaining the classic QOTSA vibe with the likes of Lanegan also on there. Which is good.

Olivieri's vocals will be awesome too, hoping for something like "You Think I Ain't Worth A Dollar"

Grohl, Turner, Shears, Elton make the album sounds it like its probably going to be their most 'accessible' to date

I don't know, have you heard the snippets? Qotsa aren't you're radio friendly band like biffy are (bar maybe no one knows), they are really into doing different quirky things and all the snippets so far show that. Yes they have some guests who are in mainstream bands, but it will be still keep that Qotsa sound - all those musicians are either friends of or great musicians that are open to interpretation.

Yes they maybe could headline, but at the moment I very much doubt it

Well, when you think about it; we are going to have one 'new' headliner and Slipknot fit that, but I think they probably would have headlined in their peak, and the no metal headliner thing too.

Currently I don't know what viable options for a new headliner there are. I'd rather see suggestions of Paramore and 30STM than 'Arctic Monkeys, Metallica, The Prodigy' sort of thing that isn't going to happen.

I think arctics and Metallica are both very likely, with new albums out, haven't played in a few years, fit the audience etc. but yes you're right, a smaller newer headliner will probably be the 3rd. Maybe Mumford even though everyone says they aren't a reading band - which is crap, and if you saw the reception they had in the nme tent a few years back you'd know.

Paramore would be awful but would suit a thirty seconds to mars and you me at six undercard which would be likely. That's the worst case scenario really. I doubt there'll be another rap/pop headliner so soon.

Hoping for a great 90s band like pearl jam, or, as I said before which would be amazing, daft punk :P
