Maybe one year, but not the year following Eminem.

I don't think that matters, it's more to do with the fact that Kanye is releasing a solo album so will probably tour that next year & I can see Jay-Z taking some time off once Beyonce has done touring in order to spend it with his new family. Perhaps in 2015 they could be considered, though I'm not sure R&L will be the first festival to get them.

I don't think 'Watch The Throne' will ever headline a fest.. Kanye hardly does fests by himself as it is, or even tours in the UK.

Plus they'll both have solo albums out before they even think about a Watch The Throne 2, just because Eminem has played, it doesn't mean Jay and Kanye will. Eminem has a lot more cross over than both those acts. Glastonbury and V will get them long before R&L.

Although if they did headline, they alone would guarantee my ticket for sure >_>

True, there are of course other reasons, but I reckon they'd face a backlash if they booked two hip-hop headliners in a row, espeically when they're a lot more risky than Eminem.

Hackney? that small section was amazing, although nothing compared to the show they put on in an arena

That wasn't WTT. That was Jay-Z with Kanye in bits, not what I'd deem WTT. I don't think a simple Jay-Z show with Kanye making an appearance is WTT, and I don't think they'd deem it as one either. Edited by thesecretingredientiscrime

Well it was WTT because they did a section of Watch The Throne songs, they didn't do Jay-Z songs "with Kanye in bits" I said it was a small section, not a whole WTT gig. But it was still WTT, no matter how many songs they played.

WTT isn't just Jay-Z and Kanye performing together. It's based around a very specific performance.

Jay-Z and Kanye have previously worked together, as Jay-Z and Kanye West but WTT is a seperate thing, hence the image and use of the brand created for it.

No WTT is Jay and Kanye's album, that they made together, that they performed together, so I think you'll find performing WTT songs, together, live, no matter how many songs they played, encompasses as a WTT performance.

I wasn't saying the whole Hackney show was WTT, I said a small section was.

I don't know what point you're trying to make, but it has no foundation.

No it doesn't. Watch The Throne isn't simply Jay-Z and Kanye performing together or releasing together, hence why they used the Watch The Throne name for the tour in particular rather than just Jay-Z and Kanye West.

The original point was that Watch The Throne wouldn't work outdoors as a concept. I was under the impression at that point it had never been done outdoors, but Matt says it has. Jay-Z and Kanye West has been done outdoors though.

A majority of their Mexico gigs were outside, in stadiums. Obviously they prefer arenas, but yeah outside has been done

Going out on a limb and saying Ye will headline on his own next year, with perhaps a guest slot from Jay-Z, Ye wouldn't do V or Glasto, probably not TITP, definitely not download (although I think that would be an inspired booking), maybe IOW, maybe bestival. But I'd say reading would be the festival he would be most suited to, and I think FR could book him... he would most likely play a UK fest after his new album, hopefully

So if, hypothetically, Jack White played a solo set, and in the middle of it Meg came out and they played some White Stripes songs, you'd still only be watching a Jack White solo performance and not White Stripes for those songs?
