I don't think music taste dictates whether you think he's an asshole or a genius.

I dunno Kanye is a lot less mainstream that people think... I think by music fans (reading) hes considered a genius and by more mainstream audiences (V) an asshole...

A lot less mainstream in what way? He's one of the most 'mainstream' rappers there is. Everybody's heard of him. He's made so many chart toppers. He'd definitely go to V before Reading, then again, I don't think he'll ever play either.

I know hes a very famous figure and yeah he is a mainstream rapper, but I would say hes much less commercial than say eminem or jay-z, maybe even lil wayne, drake, etc. (all that shit) considering where commercial tastes are going...

The way it would be the same is if Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and JPJ had worked together under seperate names as a trio, and then invented a whole new concept for TCV.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this WTT but what you're saying sounds ridiculous. So Kanye and Jay Z perform their own tracks together, and then do it under an alias called WTT, and that makes it not just those 2 solo and occasionally performing together?

It's just a name for an album and a tour. Yes maybe it's labelled under an awful name but its just a collaboration between jay z and kanye

I suspect it would do if you are.

A fairly similar example is Grinderman and Nick Cave And The Bad.Seeds. Just because it has the same members, doesn't make it the same thing. The Bronx and Mariachi El Bronx too.

I suspect it doesn't matter, as what happened to The Big Chill will probably have blacklisted Kanye with FR.

Yeah I'm undecided on if they would move up... They were only gonna be fourth on main at Download (where they generally give higher slots to bands) and they look to be very low at Glasto... but Reading is their crowd so guess it could happen... if so would have this as top three and just move Franz to NME:

QOTSA

Dizzee

Shikari

Monkeys

Black Keys

Vampire Weekend

Metallica

30stm

Placebo

I'd say crystal castles ym@6, the black keys, bfmv and rise against are all potentially too low

I think there are too many repeats there from 2011 and 2012, and a lot of them even in the same slots.

QOTSA heading and Enter Shikari 4th again? Nah

QOTSA subbing if they play and Shikari heading the tent.

An arena tour for the 1st time will not plummet QOTSA to headline status at this festival, make the prediction what you want, that might be me jumpng the gun on what you've done, but if you've put QOTSA to headline for any other reason than you want it to happen, then you're way wrong.

Blur should be your 1st name down on the sheet to play next year without a doubt, it may be wrong but it's more a realistic and legit header to include than any other at the minute, bar Metallica

I'm not gonna argue about the headliners... I think QOTSA, AM and Metallica is pretty logical. However I understand the issues with bands lower down the lineup so I've made some changes:

Queens of the Stone Age
Dizzee Rascal
Enter Shikari
MGMT
Klaxons
We Are Scientists
Fightstar

Arctic Monkeys
Vampire Weekend
You Me At Six
Of Monsters and Men
The Horrors
Metronomy
Kids in Glass Houses

Metallica
30 Seconds to Mars
Placebo
The Darkness
Mastodon
Less Than Jake
The Joy Formidable

Tried to choose bands who even if they have played the festival recently haven't played main for a while (excluding YM@6 and Enter Shikari). Also pretty certain all of these bands are releasing new albums either later (mid to late) this year/next year (excluding Joy Formidable and Fightstar. Fightstar I'm just guessing with). Also tried to be a bit more pessimistic.

I don't think you mean plummet do you Gazza... To be honest I'd be surprised to see QOTSA headlining next year, but then stranger things have happened I guess. I do think Metallica will be there though.

Whatever I mean, It's damn obvious.

Why on Earth are Blur most likely? Surely the likes of Mumford & Sons and Arctic Monkeys are much more likely, having new material to promote. Can't see Blur doing Euro festivals again next year.

Missed out the UK Festival scene this year, they know they will sell shit loads of tickets here and so do the organizers, Damon has mentioned about playing Reading again apparantly and it's not as if, they are not touring is it. Mumford or Arctics can still make up a 3rd headliner along with Metallica, they are both very different bands to Blur. Blur wouldn't need to, they are an English band, they live here, they have no need to do a fest in Germany or wherever that gives them a gap to come over to a place that they live in.

I don't mean to pick bud but you have an act that is way way bigger than QOTSA subbing to them. I'm looking at the bigger picture. R&L, school leavers, 16-20 years old's, they will lap Dizzee up way more and he's not headlining. Way way over estimating the size of QOTSA with a new album or not. 30 STM have more chance of headlining, they are MUCH bigger than QOTSA and that isn't likely to happen either. QOTSA have just had a following that will keep them at sub level.
