Another person in denial it seems. Hell, The Prodigy are way bigger and they'd be pushing it to headline.

Haha no you missed what I was getting at. You suggested anyone who thinks QOTSA will headline is just saying that because they want that to happen, whilst also suggesting Blur will headline when there is absolutely no reason for them to other than, well, do you need me to spell it out?

I'm not in denial at all. I think QOTSA have a chance but I don't definitely think they'll headline as this year would have been the year to take a chance with them, instead of an admittedly sketchy Green Day booking. I'm not convinced they'll be there at all next year.

Most importantly they're subbing Lolla Chile this year so they can't really headline that next year and if they don't headline that then they're ruled out right?

Paramore and 30STM are probably better placed because they're pop music and if this year is anything to go by, pop will probably headline over heavier music. It is interesting though, that I have heard next to nothing about 30STM and Paramore's new albums that are coming out in the next few months, but I have heard shitloads about QOTSA's.

In my opinion 30stm, Black Keys, QOTSA etc could all headline... but we're gonna have one headliner step up... we certainly aren't gonna have Metallica AND Blur... It'd just be 03 all over again...

Edit: As said in previous post there is no real reason for Blur to headline... at least QOTSA have a new album...

Ahahahaha 'in denial'.

Now where have I seen that before...?

EDIT: Although having said that there are two direct responses from thewayiam to people saying Gazza upthread - is it finally over?!?!?!

I didn't missed it at all lol. You think a band are going to headline off of this album when they are subbing a smaller overall festival the year before off of this album? Seriously?!

Yes, Blur are much bigger and a much bigger deal, they don't need new material to go and and headline, the fact that loads of 18 year olds cry out out for it to happens says something. It's more the fact, they have done nothing UK wise this year.

They're not, he's a prick & doesn't have a clue what he's on about most of the time.

Judging by a comment you made yesterday lad, I'd quit while you're ahead.

The thought of Dizzee Rascal headlining is what's really funny in this situation

Exactly, and he's bigger but yeah lol.

Just like you didn't have Th Strokes and Pulp? It was 2002 all over again. I don't think 10+ years would matter to be honest and it's a new booker. Don't write anything off, they booked C&S to sub a main stage slot

What's wrong with C&S subbing? They did it at Download in one of its most succesful years and they are arguably more suited to Reading. Plus yeah Strokes and Pulp happened but it's not exactly the norm... you are trying to make out Metallica and Blur is the most likely when two headliners headlining together again has never happened as far as I'm aware. Strokes and Pulp is not the same as that.

30STM only just released a single, Paramore's album leaked and it's horrendous. Sounds like The Ting Tings.

C&S subbing is not the issue really, but it is surprising and that's what I'm saying. What isn't the norm, can't be discounted. I'm far by not saying them two will headline next year, I'm saying I see them both higher than a lot of other options. I can't see the fest booking both Mumford and Arctics, you have V Fest, T and IOW that are going to possibly go for 1 of them and the other is going to be subject to a lot of interest. One of them can still play R&L if Met and Blur did. IOW have never had Arctic Monkeys headline just like they hadn't The Killers until this year.

There's no doubt paramores new album has potential to be a big commercial success. Have to wait and see how well it sells. Long way of but if you me at sixs album sells well when its released anyone else think they could potentially sub?

It'll sell well regardless of if it's any good or not.
