Stone Roses have new material on the way though, they're just being lazy about it.

I think when Blur don't do R+L when they're around Europe at the time playing numerous festivals and no British shows and don't get booked, then I think it's time to give up hope. Whether it's them not being approached because of what FR want to do with the festival, or Blur rejecting it, who knows.

New Roses material?

Matt likes this news.

I never said they NEEDED new material to tour, I said they'd want to have it. Damon Albarn is the sort of guy who's making music all the time, much like Thom Yorke. I see no reason to suggest that Blur will tour Europe for a third summer doing the same greatest hits setlist over & over again. It just ain't Damon's style.

Christ you're thick.

Now im not one to generally side with thewayiam but perhaps damon just uses blur to beef his fortune so he can make his music elsewhere.

Blur have just been doing the greatest hits tour for a few years now, was it glasto/titp 2009? hyde park 2012 and europe this year.

He will go of and do his thing with another side project, coxon will do his thing aswel. Blur are then likely to do more shows to bump up the wealth and maybe do the very odd single.

Never have I doubted this...

What I'm saying is, if they wanted to play R&L they'd be doing it this year, it fits perfectly into their schedule & yet they're still not doing it. That tells me that they either don't want to do it, demand too much money or the organisers aren't fussed about them. Either way, it's UNLIKELY that they'll do a third summer of European festivals in 2014 & if they don't care enough about R&L to easily fit it into their schedule this year, why would they bother playing it as a one off next year...

So even thetime sides with me. Frankly - you're a douche! and just not getting it. Even if they do the odd single, it becomes a greatest hits tour plus 1 single, big fucking deal LMAO

They're just waiting for the ultimate British trio of 2015 with Blur, Oasis and The Stone Roses

:P

Get your umbrellas ready for the piss, and your Fred Perry polos and parkas out.

If I was a massive twat inside FR, I'd do something like:

Oasis with Miles Kane on NME

The Stone Roses with Courteeners on NME

Blur with Jake Bugg on NME.

I'd only care about Miles, and I've seen him enough times :P

They have a new compilation/live/b-side album/box set every year.

Why haven't they played any UK festival since 2009? Why would that change in 2014?

it's moreso the fact of why would they play a greatest hits set that was also done at T, Glasto etc etc. Why wouldn't they more like? Plus Parklife in full with hits would be a different set.

I do love how angry Frankly gets though, and I'm not even on a wind up at all

Sounds beyond awful.

I'd love that :) But the festival would be so full of annoying teenagers who call themselves "mods" because they wear Harringtons and Fred Perry shirts that they bought in Topman, and stopped listening to Rihanna and Scouting For Girls not long ago.

Yeah exactly. Why wouldn't they have played their 'greatest hits' set this year when they were around Europe. Why didn't they do it the year after they headlined Glasto?

This Parklife 20th celebration thing that's been cooked up here is bullshit, we know they're greedy bastards and that it would happen in their own show. It's just tremendously dumb that they would play next year, but wouldn't play this year while they're doing festivals; a year where they were probably approached seeing as Green Day are headlining even with a poor selling stadium show.

I'm confident enough to say they 100% won't play.
