For the record I think Parklife in full & then the hits at the end would be brilliant, doesn't mean I think it's likely though.

Yeah exactly. Why wouldn't they have played their 'greatest hits' set this year when they were around Europe. Why didn't they do it the year after they headlined Glasto?

This Parklife 20th celebration thing that's been cooked up here is bullshit, we know they're greedy bastards and that it would happen in their own show. It's just tremendously dumb that they would play next year, but wouldn't play this year while they're doing festivals; a year where they were probably approached seeing as Green Day are headlining even with a poor selling stadium show.

I'm confident enough to say they 100% won't play.

The Parklife thing to be fair wasn't my suggestion but I have done enough to say suggest it, it would be a reason for not playing this year as that is next year. I will say though, there is no wishful thinking on my part, I'm not one of the goers that would stamp my money right there and then if Blur were announced, I see them this year so it's not a huge issue.

In all fairness, people seem to think Paramore are more likely than anyone at the minute to be fair.

I don't understand Paramore headlining next year.... surely they wouldn't have subbed again last year and headlined this year... they're touring european festivals and it looks like no UK fest can be bothered to book them... not exactly the best thing for a band who are presumably near headline status.

I don't understand Paramore headlining next year.... surely they wouldn't have subbed again last year and headlined this year... they're touring european festivals and it looks like no UK fest can be bothered to book them... not exactly the best thing for a band who are presumably near headline status.

I'd rather go to a tour but a lot seem to think they are a chance. Going by their new stuff, they can't even be considered Download now I wouldn't think, WAY too much of a pop edge now. They will sell a shit load of tickets and I love them but above sub don't seem right. But you would think if they don't play off the back again of this new album next year, which will have been 16 months since release then they won't until the next album as they'll have no need to return surely the following year with no new album and having already done Europe. I can't see sub again, I don't think they are right for V Fest, I know a fair amount of the crowd type that goes there and they are kinda if they did like them, it was when they were first about. So as much as I'll say nothing is guaranteed obviously, I don't think many would be surprised and 30 STM subbing sounds awfully possible.

Don't think anyone does need to step up.....as already said, both this year and last years headliners had already headlined at least 1 uk fest. Although if you consider Mumford and sons a step up then hell, go for them.
