Lineup 2014

Mumfords and Arctics will be two of the most in-demand headliners for next year. FR somehow need to get those both on English exclusive. The difficulty/cost of that is why I think it may be unlikely.

I hear that, but again, 2009. KOL and Arctics were both massively in demand then. I agree that Arctics would be massively in demand, and Reading would have to offer something great for V and the others to not get in the way, but not so much Mumford and Sons. They are doing T and Glasto this year, so the only competition would be V and IOW really, and V is well on pop headliners so maybe they wouldn't even really be interested.

I agree, I think something like Arctic Monkeys / Mumford and Sons / Metallica, subbed by Queens of the Stone Age / The Vaccines / The Prodigy is feasible?

It was only the other day I was touting QotSA to headline, but I've reconsidered ;)

Pretty much what I would predict right now - but maybe Paramore or the XX instead of Prodigy who I think will headline some other place, maybe Bestival, IOW, T, or V

Isnt mumford pop? v never have 2 traditional pop headliners.

Well yeah, but not your Rihanna style pop. All I mean is I reckon V will be more focused on getting Rihanna/Eminem/KOL/Arctics/Killers etc as ever usual. And whats to say Mumfords would prefer to play V then Reading? They loved it when they played NME the other year.

Either way, thats just my useless thoughts. Of course other fests might get in the way but I can see Reading trying and potentially obtaining a Mumford/Arctic/Metallica combo

R+L will have the same competition for both Arctics and Mumfords. Not worth thinking about T; they're not bound to exclusives, being the only major festival in Scotland.

Mumfords probably will prefer to play V as it's more suited to their fanbase and they'll get more money.

Mumford & Sons will headline V festival next year, I think that's what's going to happen. Reading will draw the short straw and probably get them last. They could do iow aswell next year!

Arctic Monkeys will be back at reading next year, I'd say the stars are aligned for that one.

After glastonbury they are gonna blast back in popularity to an absurd level like coldplay did! Yeah it's just going to happen haha, I can't give any sources because I have none, and there's nothing with evidence. It's just that it would make alot of sense!

I can see Blur playing to be fair, I think it should happen. Very Very good live and would go down amazingly at reading (as they have before)

Third headliner? Gotta be QOTSA guys! New album, increase in popularity and the traditional step up headliner!

It's my actual prediction that i'l stick with till announcement day 2014 :P

Bestival: daft punk, nick cave, black keys

T in the park: arctic monkeys, biffy clyro, the prodigy

V festival: lady gaga, mumford and sons

Reading fest: paramore, the killers, arctic monkeys

Download: nine inch nails, Metallica, blink 182

Latitude: two door cinema club, xx, morrissey

Glastonbury: arcade fire, fleetwood mac, kings of Leon

Hard rock: 30stm, Neil young

Wireless: example, drake

IoW: kings of Leon, qotsa, the strokes

Just a quick prediction probably majorly wrong, think acts like kasabian/muse will take a year out and come back after a new album (especially kasabian need to)

IOW looks a bit odd, also looking at wireless's headliners this yr (jay/justin) i doubt they'd step down to drake/example, to be honest if he has another big album couldn't example headline V? rest looks like a reasonable guess...

I disagree that V caters more to Mumfords fanbase - I think it applies to Reading as equally. But thats just differing opinions. Like I said, I can imagine V getting someone like Lady GaGa as well as a indie headliner, maybe Arctics, or 1 of the usual indie bands they go for.

Mumford are certainly a band that can fit in to both fests, theres quite a few that do the festival circuit that can.

Thought would have a go at predicting a few of the fests like some of you have done:

Glastonbury: Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac

Reading: Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Metallica

IOW: The Prodigy, Mumford & Sons, Muse

Download: Tool, Biffy Clyro, Pearl Jam

V: Mumford & Sons, Lady Gaga

TITP: Kings of Leon, Lady Gaga, Biffy Clyro

Foo fighters at glasto might be a bit odd, but very cool, also not sure about biffy at download. However I'm pretty certain you titp prediction is very accurate...

Daft Punk have confirmed they're working with Giorgio Moroder on their new album.

Have to admit I don't really know who he is, but I know he's worked with Bowie, Blondie, Mercury & Adam Ant so sounds good to me.

(This is probably off topic but I'm not sure where to put it :P)
