Enter Shikari will headline NME next year. I don't think they'll ever get higher than third on main, you either have to be pretty mainstream (lots of Radio 1 airplay etc), like Florence, Black Keys, Chase and Status, Paramore, Elbow, 30 Seconds To Mars, or HUGE in alternative circles like SOAD and NIN (SOAD could and have headlined Download, NIN are borderline), to sub.

Unless Shikari take a pretty huge and unexpected change of musical direction they will not sub, because they won't fulfill either of those criteria.

Foals easily bigger. Come on now.

This is as someone who loves Shikari (seeing them in Swansea next week, can't wait!) and is fairly indifferent towards Foals. I take issue with the idea that you can't like music if you like them, too.

Ah you make a very good case, but I just have a feeling they'll sub in the next few years. But if they play next year specifically, you're probably right on third or NME header.

But hey, anything can happen, I base my subbing prediction solely on the outcome of their next album, because it could be a lot more mainstream, like Only Revolutions was for Biffy and El Camino for The Black Keys.

The Paddington Frisk sounds like it's gonna be same old Shikari so far, but we'll see whenever they release their new album, maybe end of this year or early next year?

I don't think they'll sub if the album isn't more mainstream, let me just put that out there

Not really, I'm a 16/21 year old and if you asked the average person our age they would have know idea who shikari are, but would probably like foals....

That's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying Shikari are more popular with 16-21 year olds than say 30-40 year olds

What I love about when a band releases a new album is that you have no idea what direction it could take them!

Make them worldwide headliners like it did for mumford & sons.

Make them loose popularity like paramore? (Alot of people I know who were die hard fans are now not fans from their new stuff).

Or keep them at the same level of popularity aka (Radiohead's king of limbs)

Don't get me wrong i'm a big radiohead fan but they intended kings of limbs to bring many new fans by slightly changing their style and it really did nothing for them.

Sempiternal right now is a big album for bmth! They are going to increase in size alot seeing as they've been getting quite abit of radio airplay! Especially for a band of their type!

New ES song is alright...7/10

Video 10/10 lol

Yeah the song is a so-so for them, Zane said it's part of a 'trilogy' of songs though, so I don't really know what to expect

The video is brilliant haha

Oh bizzare...why not call them just 'official music videos' then? O_0

They've always done it haven't they? The No Sleep Tonight is a 'promo' video, but I'm pretty certain it's an official one too, it's the one that gets played on like MTV

Still annoys me to this day that they don't play No Sleep live though

Erm. About 4% of this is accurate. Babel didn't propel Mumfords to headline status. Paramore are just as popular as they were and TKOL wasn't designed to bring in a load of new fans
