Puts on a brilliant gig mind ;) not listened to them since Sheff o2 last year though, they don't sound very good anymore, I think my sense of hearing has finally evolved

Just search 'oasis stone roses arctic monkeys', the amount of generic Indie/wannabe mod/wannabe casuals on there who all like the same six or seven bands as each other is hilarious.

I used to follow that James Stewart, honestly there's not many bigger mongs about, if you want to facepalm over and over and over just read down his twitter, he has the IQ of a gnat. Don't get me wrong I like Kasabian Oasis and the Courteeners (Enemy, Rev etc. are shite though), but people like that genuinely make it embarassing to like them. To call that music 'lad rock' is a bit short sighted, but honestly the majority of the fans of those bands haven't a clue about any other genre of music and blindly believe that those bands are solely the supreme Gods of music.

The most revered headline performance of the past few years was a 'risky alternative bump up booking'.

Wasn't well received by many in the scheme of things though, but obviously the people there liked it because they were fans.

But yes they are possibly 1 exception. But I think if they could still book them as subs, (and I think they will be able to), then they'd do that instead

Exactly. I love The Stone Roses, probably my favourite band ever behind the Manics, plus The Smiths and The Libertines are up there for me, and I have a lot of time for Oasis, but the way these people talk like the entirety of musical history revolves around these bands are, as you put it, facepalm-worthy.

And yeah, a lot of these people tweet things calling out wannabe mods, the irony completely fucking lost on them!

If you read the whole thing the other guy ends up like, alright they're equal, then this mong is like "Oasis had a lot more success" which is obviously what makes them a lot better -_-

Nah, they can't. Oasis invented music, remember? And any band that's ever existed should be compared to Oasis to detemine how good and how Indie they are. Oasis vs. N.W.A.? N.W.A. are a bunch of autotuned mainstream gangster rappers and Snoop Doggy Dogg will never write a lyric as profound as "All my people right here, right now, d'you know what I mean?" They are not the mods.
