I've been thinking, the work with the release of their new album do you reckon black sabbath could of asked for a go next year? After the sucess of their tour (it'l be sucessful, & album).

I can imagine it would be a good booking, with the way reading is going, to have one heavy headliner is a real coup! + the relevancy would tie in well!

Would Queens Of The Stone Age, Black Sabbath, Arctic Monkeys be a good set of headliners? Or is that too heavy?

I would say its a big risk booking sabbath 18 days before a fest nevermind 18 months.

I think Bastille will be at Reading actually. I think they will be like The Vaccines and Flo last year and Jake Bugg this year, everyone was sure they would go to V. I think FR will give Bastille a high slot and bag them :)

Yet but by 2014 will have no indie cred whatsoever (unlike flo and the vaccines) V is a way bigger market for them and typical V goers much prefer them to typical reading lot...

I dunno, I think they are actually more popular with the Reading crowd, their music is in the same vein as The 1975 (who have even less indie cred than Bastille). FR would probably give them a higher slot than V

Based on my friends, all the ones who like indie rock (i fall into that crowd) think bastille are just a shit version of 2door, all my friends who listen to more chart/mainstream music love bastille, I reckon V would give them a higher slot and reading will give an alt-j type bump up to an act completely out of the equation atm (or haim if their album sells well/gets critical acclaim)

At least? Are you suggesting they could headline? I still think they're 3rd main size. Would have said NME headline size as well based on previous years, but not based on this year.

At least was a very poor choice of words there I apologise. I'd argue with the album this year they'll be a solid sub sized band (presuming it does well commercially etc), and if another album is released and is as successful as the others I reckon they could be pushing for a headline slot
