dondo
Hi all Been looking around for a small festival to go to this summer as a 1st one to go with the kids (5 & 3) and after a bit of research of what was available on the 2 weekends that we could do something have plumped for the Croissant Neuf Summmer Party (was toss up between that and Farmer Phils). Anybody else going/been before?
dondo
Just seen some of the bands announced for this http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/12/120320a.shtml Does anyone know if it's likely to sell out quickly if at all?
rischbrit
We're going. First time for us. We go to Glastonbury each year and the croissant neuf area at Glastonbury is our favourite so are really looking forward to it!
dondo
We booked our tickets last night. 1st time kids have been camping which should hopefully be fun!!! Think may need to have a couple of nights away at local campsite to see how we go- and to practice putting up the huge tent I bought off eBay last year
grumpyhack
Been the last couple of years and stewarded there last year. Highly recommended. Great for small kids - lots of workshops to keep them entertained, excellent food and a breathtaking setting.

grumpyhack
Will be the third outing for the summer with my festival caravan. Volunteers to help put up the awning will be appreciated - there will be a cold beer or two for any helpers!
rischbrit
Cold beer sounds good. We getting there Thursday pm!
grumpyhack
Unfortunately I have to get there on Wednesday for a Stewards' Briefing - but you'll be welcome to call round for a cold beer anyway on Thursday. My caravan is a rather old Lunar Meteorite but look out for the flagpole with a daffodil windsock and, hopefully, some cheerful fairy lights. Cheers, Pete (aka Grumpyhack). rischbrit
Just a question about camping seeing as its our first time there. Are the camping areas like Glastonbury as in tents all crammed up together or as it is a much smaller festival are they more spread out? I need to know this before deciding which tent to bring as if space is limited I'll bring smaller tent! dondo
Does anyone know the alcohol policy as it says on the website "NB If you are leaving site to purchase alcohol you may have your vehicle checked when you try to re-‐enter the site and the alcohol may be taken off you." Not planning on taking loads- just wondered
rischbrit
Think it is to stop people bringing shed loads in to sell ie keep going to tesco to fill up with booze. I think as long as have a 'reasonable' amount for own consumption you should be ok!
abdoujaparov
that was great
grumpyhack
Arrived home this afternoon well chilled. Met some great people, including a really good stewards group, ate superbly, saw some very good music, always found the loos clean and actually had to put on sun block one day. Can't ask for much more in a festival.

dondo
Aye- realy enjoyed it too- as did the rest of the family- fantastically good for kids- they loved it (which meant probably didn't get to see as much music as would of liked but hey ho) and will defitinitely try and return next year. Loved the compact feel to the site the fact that it's a very short walk from car to campsite. Weather overall ace- yes- was a thunderstorm but that was overnight and thankfully our new tent withstood the pressure. Absolutely loved the lantern parade on the Sunday night. Shame to hear about the thefts on Saturday night- I think someone had a look in ours but we were in there so nothing happened. Met a great bunch of people and good to meet you Grumpyhack. Only minor gripes were that I think due to the mud from the thunderstorm the loo truck couldn't get to the campsite loos so they were a bit "rough" towards the end of Sunday and Monday. Also would of been good to see some other food places offering kids portions of meals to cut down on wastage. But as I said these are very minor and didn't detract from a superb festival.
