They did that same combo at Reading and 1 year away from Soni is perhaps too soon.

Fuck 30STM, a poor live headliner is enough let alone a poor sub too. Especially at Soni with no 2nd stage.

Ignoring the ludicrously of Paramore being good live I doubt that would work. Someone like Offspring, Placebo or Lostprohets would be better placed under her ( )so they are going after a similar demographic whilst also an older ones who Paremore probably wouldn't appeal to them

Hayley Williams does have tits. They're quite nice, I have a pic of them and everything. I would also chuck one her way but this hardly puts her in exclusive company. I went to see them once and it was a teenage girl squeal fest, I was shocked at the composition of the audience, not that I was complaining too much. I don't see them as a headliner but as a sub.

I think bands like Paramore and QOTSA would be good headliners for Soni as long as they made sure the rest of the bill was strong. Biffy and Slipknot made the step-up from being sub-headliner level at the major festivals and I think these two would work the same with a strong undercard. I think they need to get away from blowing their money on marquee but unsuitable names like Kiss and Queen and play to their strengths.

AC/DC have announced that they will be touring in support of a new album to commemorate the big 40 - surely it's too soon for them to be back at Download?

Surely Soni could do a stage build on the same one - they did for one of the bands previously didn't they I think - was it Rammstein? Aren't cameras forbidden at Soni anyway? And fest merchandise with no name on - 2 of my Soni shirts have no names on anyway.

I can't see another festival hosting them TBH. Although they may not have any festival appearances on the tour I guess.

AC/DC actually said in classic Rock mag this year - I'll try and find a link in a bit - they've changed their "no festival" policy after doing Download and they'd like to do a bunch of European festivals next tour. They also said they'd never do a tour as big as the Black Ice tour, so likely it'll be a shorter tour and if they are doing a bunch of festivals, I think they'll not bother with their own stage, I mean taking it to one festival is enough work, but to a bunch across numerous countries? I imagine their demands would be less this time around too, because A) it's not a one-off and B ) Download was essentially one date in their own headline tour, so they treated it as such, if they were doing a bunch of festivals I'm sure they'd adapt better this time around.

Man AC/DC at DL were a let down. Hope if they do do Soni they interact with the crowd a little more and relax the demands a little.

I think they were accomodated for at Download as they were such a big booking that they could make outrageous demands. If theyre offering themselves to play festivals though, then the festivals will be able to have a bigger say. If soni came back in the same format, then it might be possible for them to play the half day, allowing a bit more time for the stage setup, and more of a justification. for day ticket prices.

That said, I think they'd be too expensive for soni as they'd be more likely to go somewhere where theyll be offered megabucks

Despite what the nay sayers say, ACDC would sell out Soni or DL again. What happened last time was a brand being merchandised. The'll never do a tour like that again. It's set a template for other super groups though and we will see that kind of thing again unfortunately. I suspect the band had little say in it and were just pointed to the stage to play like they were every night. I'm not a huge fan but some of my pals are so if they do play a festival in the UK again I imagine I will be there.

I'm not a big fan of them, but they're a band I need to tick off, so I'd certainly like to see them. Really, if they were to do festivals, I guess they could really do any festival, except Download as it's too soon, and Andy said he wouldn't book them again after 2010 (Although I find that very hard to believe because they are a massive ticket shifter). The only things that might make Sonisphere look attractive is the fact that they could do the tour, and their one of the few big rock bands who have yet to play Knebworth (afaik), so perhaps that would appeal to them too?
