That may work but still sounds a bit too old a set of headliners... and AC/DC was such a fiasco at Download.. I think Soni needs to go for a younger audience next year... maybe something like:

My Chemical Romance

Linkin Park

System of a Down or just one older headliner i.e. Black Sabbath or Pearl Jam

Then get some bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore, Placebo, You Me At Six, Stone Sour, Billy Talent, Jimmy Eat World, Machine Head, Enter Shikari, Lostprophets, Skindred, Glassjaw, Brand New, Megadeth, Trivium, Killswitch Engage etc. So they can have a very solid lower card and appeal to a range of people while continuing to draw in the younger headliners the headliners would bring.

Maybe they could even do something like:

Friday

My Chemical Romance

Stone Sour

Brand New

Enter Shikari

NOFX

Saturday

Linkin Park

Placebo

Machine Head

Billy Talent

Feeder

Bowling For Soup

Lower Than Atlantis

You Me At Six

Jimmy Eat World

Glassjaw

The Joy Formidable

Twin Atlantic

Chiodos

Sunday

System of a Down

Queens of the Stone Age

Megadeth

Killswitch Engage

Skindred

The Used

Cancer Bats

Lostprophets or maybe even a twist like A Perfect Circle

Trivium

Death From Above 1979

The Subways

Gallows

Fair To Midland

Anything concrete to back that up? I mean the license and opinons on web sites are all well and good but just look at the Pearl Jam/Download thing? Seemed like a done deal but it all turned out to be coincidence and accident?

I'm sorry to say I think you're a Soni fanboy and probably being very optimistic. If they can't book strong enough headliners then there is no way that it'll go ahead. It would be too much of a risk after last year. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it to happen, I really enjoyed Soni but there is absolutely nothing I've seen yet that suggests it's going ahead.
