2013/ the future of soni?

I'm gonna go back and try again. I'm older and uglier but a wee bit more patient too. And there's a sonisphere shaped space in our plans for next year - we've not been to a rock festival for 2 years now, too damn long.

Back on topic a wee bit - would be lovely to see paramore there.

Hopefully Sonisphere will not choose 5-7 July weekend and go back to choose the last/first weekend of July/August.

Firstly it wouldn't clash with T in the Park and Relentless Nass

Secondly It's in the Summer Holidays for most people =ing a big pull factor.

Thirdly it'\ll be further away from Download in time. Giving people a good gap between em.

^I thought being the same weekend as T was an advantage, you can book bands over here for T and it wouldn't really draw punters way since they are very different fests and at other ends of the UK.

That new holding page is strangely familiar - but I can't place it - the medieval images are from an inlay sleeve I think - my first thought was Strange Sensation but that's nautical. I'm sure it's a nineties act....maybe earlier

Wife reckons it could be Deep Purple or Black Sabbath (forget which) - neither of us have the album anymore!

I think it's something I had around the Mother Love Bone, Mad Season era. Although I may be thinking of anything from a dodgy Chumbawamba pressing, to Skyclad, Levellers, or medieval prog rock from someone like Tull, or it could be totally unrelated clipart!

It's doing my nut now. The background is based on the thema mundi. The foreground triptych is still eluding me but I will find it, damn it. Def not Levs, their covers had a very definite style in the 90's. Wondered if it was ozrics or something but no, definitely absolutely not.

Would they really base the design of a page around The Levellers or Ozric Tentacles, even if they were going to play?

I'd have thought that if it isn't a generic design and is band-related it'll be around one of the headliners.

The background picture is a zodiac circle and it's featured on the Sonisphere posters a couple of times. I think the 3 biblical pictures are something to do with Black Sabbath.

the 3 biblical pictures are by Holbein 'Danse Macabre' and are like those that appear on a Paradise Lost insert - surely it's not them

They are certainly Holbein's style. But I can't find any images that are the same. I think they refer to the touring headliners of the Sonisphere tour. An obvious one could be Holbein's Dance of Death, which would link in with Iron Maiden, who are headlining a few of the Sonisphere legs. But not sure on the other 2, the 2nd one could be Henry VIII.
