Distances to walk / carry equipment

It will be my first time at IoW, though a veteren of many fests. Can anyone give me an idea of the distance from the car parks to camping areas and what the ground will be like for lugging equipment?

For years at Glasto we had a big tent (shared between five of us), then we moved up to a trailer tent, which we've used for several seasons.

The IoW website says 'no caravans' but I wonder if we could still take the trailer tent. We obviously wouldn't be able to tow it onto the site but one possibility might be unhooking it from the car in the car park and pulling/pushing it onto the site - rather like a very big festival trolley.

Not been to the IOW but to Bestival, but I wonder if the trailer will not increase your fare on the ferry.

From experience a trailer is counted as a caravan. Can you get it through a wheelchair access? No? Can you see one getting on site at Glasto??

If I am wrong please beat me with a stick ;)

Depends where you want to camp, it's obviously nothing like the distance at Glasto, but if you want to be nearer the arena it's still a drag. However saying this its still (from my experience anyway) the closest car park - campsite ratio I've known. If its empty you can be in the first campsite within 10 minutes walking - with gear it'll be a bit longer
