Atmoshpere at the arena

I'm tempted to buy day ticket for The Cure day at leeds, I really want to see them and this could be one of the last chances to see them, cause I can't see them to continue touring much longer.

However jugding from what I read here and from friends experience who went they don't rate this festival very highly, mainly because it's full of drunken teens and noobs setting camps on fire.

But is that bad at the arena? will they spoil your fun or is lt like other major festivals where the majority of people are there to enjoy the music and have a good time.

Also since The Cure are headling, I think a more mature crowd will attend that day

Theres pretty much no trouble in the arena, a few nobbish teenagers but thats all.

Yeah the Arena will be fine for The Cure I expect. The bands where there are the most annoying teenagers just being a pain for the hell of it are generally more mainstream acts like Dizzee Rascal a few years ago, for anything less mainstream on the main stage it is usually a good atmosphere.

The Cure crowd will probably be the smallest out of the 3 headliners. Its sad but both reading and leeds crowds tend to go for the more commercial band at that particular time. Its happened alot over the years. Take arcade fire for example one of the most musically gifted bands that reading/leeds have booked recently and I've never seen such a small crowd.

Ive hardly seen any trouble in fact probably none at all in the arena area and you dont get to go to the campsite anyway on a day ticket And the only real "trouble" if you can call it that is late on the sunday night at the campsites. Just a few nobs pricking about because they are upset they have to go back to mummy daddy and school with there shit grades that they got the results for while at the fest.

I do find leeds atmosphere to be a good one overall but that may have come down to going for years knowing where to camp and best spots in arena area as well as going with a large group of people that are over the average age of the normal festival goer. Not saying we are old just older!

You can get onto the campsite with just a day ticket if you wish,. Though unless you had mates that were camping, i'm not sure why you'd want to.

But i've always found the atmosphere in the arena pretty friendly, and can't recall ever seeing any trouble

yes,a lot of people come on here and slag the festival off but its only a minority.

one of the downsides to the internet is that if 80,000 people go to a festival and 79,975 of them have a good time,the 25 who didnt have a good time write about it on the forums and therefore give the wrong impression of the weekend.

i'd go the the festival and find out for yourself.

Thats how I joined efests originally.

Got robbed of about 200 quid from my tent while sleeping(only time in about 40-50 festivals) at connect festival, and came on here saying it was a disgrace an all that and in reality it was probably an isolated case and got unlucky.

Shame about Connect. The 2007 lineup was amazing. Beautiful location too I love Inveraray, pity about the fucking trek from car park to campsite though. I hope DF get something similar going in the future it had a definite potential.

Its not a bad atmosphere, just not as good as a lot of others..

Saying that reading crowds have actually been my favourite for quite a few bands i've seen elsewhere.
