I don't even know the Alice In Chains members as I have no interest in the band but the same things goes. it is not Alice in Chains if the lead singer of a song is not there. Which is why Queen is Queen with Adam Lambert and it was made sure it was known it would not be a Freddie show.

Guns and Roses might be called Axl with friends, Guns and Roses tribute act but his voice is the voice that made those songs famous.

Slash feat Myles isn't that far away from saying it's seeing the main part of Velvet Revolver do cover songs? Slash could learn to guitar any song he wanted to, but unless it's actually they're original song, it's a cover. Myles will never deliver a Guns song like Axl because Axl has one of the most unique rock voices there is.

I thought that but then realised he was saying about singers covering previous singers songs. So his arguement will be that Mike patton could sing, just not any songs that pre date him.

I had a well thought out, cohesive, articulate argument all lined up before I realised he has a point.

Although i do like AIC verion 2.0 still.

This is where I'll be too! That Thin Lizzy tribute ain't half bad either. Their Ironworks show was 10 times better than their Download performance last year and I thought that was pretty good. Cat Hoose after too? (If there is indeed any drinking time left after Mr Diva gets his shit together)
