Fuck itunes, fuck itunes festival not one ticket this year! FUCK THEM!

Aside from i mostly applied for arena bands this year unlike last year when I got White Lies, Friendly Fires and my mum got and took me to Manics

My girlfriend won tixs for Jack White and I won tixs for Pink (my sister likes her so I entered on the off chance)

I wouldn't even bother queuing, I turned up the other night and the stand by line was longer than the actual capacity the venue could hold.

Just a heads up to anyone who doesn't know, which was me last night, don't bother trying to get in with a ticket that isn't in your name. I went last night with my friends ticket as he wasn't well, i had his bank card and driving license and they wouldnt let me in. Did get in through the standby queue eventually and had a great night watching Noel but there were a lot of people who only knew dont look back in anger and where constantly filming on their iphone... pet hate of mine people taking pictures and filming gigs!

When I saw Jack White one of the band members came out before they started and said "we say this at every show but especially tonight as it's gonna be filmed you don't need to take pics and videos, you should just enjoy the band" or something to that effect and everyone started clapping going yeah then 5 mins later Mr White comes and everyone pops out their phones.

Do what bjork does and have security scan the crowd and if they catch you taking pics/vids they ask you to delete or they throw you out.

surely it's now so commonplace that they couldn't succeed with doing that now? They'd just be too many people doing it.

Not on the last uk tour it wasnt a normal gig set up with the act one end, crowd were in a circle while she was in middle. Where I was there were a couple of people hauled out to delete pics. Bjork has a no photography rule and I suppose her fans are mostly respectful of this.

Although the tour before there were people taking pics and security had there hands full. That was more of a normal gig set up though

I don't agree with taking photos generally, but at the end of the day, the fans have paid £35.00+, so if they want a few photos as momento's, leave them to it.

Bjorks likes you to live in the moment and not fanny around with cameras spoiling the moment. You cant really be engrossed in the music if your sorting your cam out.

Do I agree with bjork? Not really but I can see her point.

Otherwise, nothing to do with her about how her fans enjoy themselves!

What about artists who want fans to have a unique experience for every show? Or who are marketing dvds in the future?

Imagine how much money would be lost if someone had filmed all of the LZ gig at the o2, and just put it on the internet before it came out,

I have a decent version that i got of the Led Zeppelin show on Dvd that a fan filmed. It is perfectly watchable.

That's beside the point though. I don't think perfectly watchable is what most people want from a live dvd, and I don't think most artists want straight "perfectly watchable" performances. Jack White is obviously a main figure in this discussion, and I think it's fair to say he's never released or been involved in a live dvd which could be described as "perfectly watchable".
