lightning1000
Jesus fucking Christ, a logical band to follow Paramore? There's 95 minutes between Paramore starting and The Cure starting. Is that enough time for Paramore to play their set, for Green Day to set up, Green Day to play their set and then for The Cure to set up? No of course not. lightning1000
Just thought I'd point out I don't think there's any chance of green day at leeds. Just couldn't resist the opportunity to have a swipe at paramore......
Cieran
It is if paramore play the same length set they did at Leeds in 10 haha. Around 30 mins if I remember correctly.
lightning1000
Yeah, sub-headliner getting a 30 minute slot..... logic. Still wouldn't even work!
Justiceforcedave
Maybe Greenday will play in the campsite on Thursday at Leeds? Or in the Portaloos on Friday? Or a secret set in the Ostrich Burger stand?

sjseabass
Daniel P Carter having to catch himself from mentioning Green Day when talking about R&L on the R1 Rock Show tonight, said instead to keep listening to Zane Lowe this week...surely they wouldn't properly announce it on Wednesday? People will die in there!
Cieran
As far as im aware the timing for them was never put up. It mightv been straight off and the dude doing the clashfinder saw it as 11.4, dunno. I guessed 11.50 same as FOTL the day before. Itl be around tht time, but its guess work. 2rare2die
Metallica managed to pull off a secret set in the tent at Download in '03 without deaths so i'm sure Greenday could play the NME tent at Reading. And as gutted as i am that it seems Leeds isn't going to get them, maybe this will stop some of the 'Leeds get everything!' whinging lol. eFestivals
what's the chances that Green Day could appear on the main stage after Paramore none at all with what is lined up currently. This post might change that. I guarantee, 100%, that Green Day are currently lined up to play the NME tent at Reading on Saturday afternoon. They're NOT playing Leeds. Now, who wants to restart the "Reading is better than Leeds" argument?
Hart Attack
Yes! Really didn't think this would happen, it seemed too good to be true. Where exactly will they play - before Pure Love?

micawber
If I had a heart at all then I might feel sorry for Zane making his big announcement tomorrow. Ha.
astroman123
What a fucking joke that Green Day are at Reading but not Leeds. Everyone pays the same. Green Day are a £50 plus band easily. Id like to see how they are going to compensate us. If not I just won't be returning. Simple as that.
mrtourette
But think of how much your Thursday night that we don't get is worth! Swings and roundabouts.

astroman123
The Thursday must be something special then! But id rather have Green Day for 30 mins than a Enter Shikari DJ set for 2 hours.

nowyouregideon
Think it will be all new stuff for promotion or will they bust out the hits too?
mrtourette
Mainly new stuff.
nowyouregideon
Probably will tbh, I can't decide if a band the size of Green Day agreeing to do an early and short set on the second stage is the kind of band who would just be there for promotion purposes for an album that only has two singles so far. Are there set-lists floating around from the secret shows they have done in Japan and America floating around anywhere?
