English Law

*nothing exciting btw I'm just bored!

Was just reading through the Terms and Conditions on Rockness website and it states...

"26. These terms shall be governed by English Law and we both agree to be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts."

...now I'm no Braveheart, anti-English bigot but thought Scotland had it's own laws no? Would that not make those rules invalid?! Any lawyers out there? haha

Is the promoter AEG? Their head office is in London. If either party made a civil claim against each other the issue of jurisdiction of the claim could be used to delay things.. Here you are both agreeing any dispute would go through English courts.

Think it is AEG. So you can bypass a countries judicial system by agreeing to go elsewhere?! haha

It is AEG.

I don't think it's anything about trying to bypass anything, just a simple case of a statement of what set of laws (English ones) the ticket contract has been written in regard to.

It doesn't stop anything being pursued in Scottish courts thru Scottish law.
